hi Jbinvestor, u mean the payment is via exercise the bond? if it is, is it mandatory for them to do so, bcoz i think i read its up to TM's call. min 60 mil, max 1+ bil
ya ocpd, it seem neutral. to me, P1 sounded like not what TM require, but since its so cheap , why not.

really the purchase of P1 is to complement TM.

thanks skng74 and ocpd for pointing out to me. i have learnt . regardless, 8% still not small amount regardless if it affect immediate cash flow, no?

i think its like borrow from Ah Long, if I don't pay first also wont affect my cashflow immediately. But can I say it a good thing?
2014-03-28 08:18 | Report Abuse
skng74, does that simply mean unpaid interest will be compounded?

hi , i post this at Green Packet forum, maybe i post it here to get more perspective.
what is TM advantage competing in wireless segment? TM biz is on landed line, will having P1 benefit to their biz?
at first P1 try to offer subscription to those who need high speed internet with mobility. but need to carry an extra modem along, which can be bulky. facing competition with telco's player now ( Digi, Maxis, and Celcom) who offer improved network coverage at high speed now. consumer rather not pay for extra subscription to P1 for having mobility online. they got it bundled with telcos bill in their smartphone, no need carry extra gadget. i think thats how P1 lose its edge to these Telcos
Maybe having P1 can compliment TM in a way where existing Unifi / streamyx subscriber can access mobile internet via hotspot. but that would only mean another 'value added service to existing TM customer'. those who can afford Unifi likely already have data plan which will find this feature a redundant.(good to have but still ok if without)
my point is, will it benefit TM business to have P1 now that TM is not having a mobile network? can it translate to more subscribers revenue?

hi. i just thought of this.

with this implication, how TM as a partner of P1 can grow it to multi billion baby, which imply GP will be valuable by owning 30% of it.
anyway, just less than 10 hours before market open. :)

cihiro, good news for what counter? for GP, from what is discussed here, more or less we can summarized that the news with TM is not in favor of P1. not so well received
2014-03-27 14:10 | Report Abuse
angelina make more sense, GP owns 57% of P1. GP sell 57% of P1 to TM for 350mil.. anyway, if GP dun wana give special dividend out of this 350mil, GP share will down regardless. The announcement received fm TM side only. Need to wait GP side for those holding GP
2014-03-27 13:55 | Report Abuse
rm350mil for 57%, 100% = rm614mil =89cent per share. any comment?

topaz. I think it means transaction that involves 25% of shares. Possibly, acquisitions involves purchase of > 25% shares in gpacket, requiring suspension. Acquiring party need not suspend perhaps bcoz their purchase without using their own share, or use their share not more than 25%. The deal may be not that attractive, can be less than closing price of 52c per share and definitely not more than 59cent, as can be seen by heavy selling, likely by major shareholder who possibly has info about deal.
I can b wrong as I'm not in this field, can anyone verify? I like to know too.

hi, anyone notice any unusual situation at bursa today? the total volume transaction in most counter does not tally with the accumulated volume. some transaction does not appear to be reflected in counter's transaction info.
besides that, also noticed during pre-opening, best sell price in most counter is lower that best buy.
i double checked with 2 platforms, Hong Leong and RHB. my friend using maybank platform also notice the same situation. seem like IT technical problem from Bursa? anyone has any clue?

Hi Val Elta. Thanks for ur sharing. Somehow I dun see how they relate price of silver to their per unit cost. I still studying and havnt completely get their representation at aud19 as their cost. Coz that is the price of processed silver. Alcyone mine n sells silver ore , not processed silver. They sell to Perth Mint to processed as end product, ie silver. They should rightly represent their cost in terms of the silver ore grade that they are mining. Silver ore also has many quality, some mine ore has higher n lower concentration of silver, n different ore grade sells at different price. maybe they did put this calculation into their presentation bt i still yet to identify it, but loss of 10mil annually really a cause for concern.
I really still observing this counter and ur insights given really useful in extending my understanding to notion n it's investment.
Anyone has any idea or ahare if notion has fully recover from the fire. They have compensation, but does the tragedy has any lasting effects?

hi Val-Elta, i juz wish to join in the discussion. somewhere along your comment, u mentioned u agree on Notion to buy in Alcyone, but u did agree too they overpaid. they paid aus 5cent per share for a company trading 2cents now. 2.5x market price did sound expensive
http://markets.ft.com/research/Markets/Tearsheets/Financials?s=AYN:ASX
can see Alcyone running out of cash very fast. the company only mines silver. Alcyone is making a loss of aus 10mil at aus 20mil odd revenue. even if silver price doubles, this company also hardly can break-even. besides, Alcyone is inheritance from a previously also-failed silver miner , Macmin, which collapsed due to the same reason, runs out of cash. they banking in in selling silver in Malaysia via Alcytone may be juz a false sense of hope.
Alcyone seem like desperate for Notion's cash to hang on to their life.
Notion must have realized that manufacturing is the hardest hit industry during recession like 2009/10. and during recession, Gold/Silver price will spike. they might hope that having a stake in silver mine can help them hedge on to difficult times. seeing Alcyone financial performance, not sure if Notion is making a right investment decision.
this is my 2 cents worth on Alcytone investment.
anyway, i do agree that Notion core business operation is healthy, but like any other manufacturing base company, when big recession hit and consumption down, they are the hardest hit.
what may be ur thoughts about this?

personal opinion la. now alot of ppl including myself tends to wait and see, prefer to go for hit and run stock. i am interested to this counter but i think need to keep untill dun know when. also not sure if their earning is sustainable. dun dare to keep stock for long run at the moment. i feel, since it is so cheap, and the market cap also relatively cheap, so worth consider to buy base on its undervalue.
anyway, i juz found out today before this current MD, the previous MD was the deputy Finance Minister, Donald Duck.

maybe thats y get MRT n powerplant job. but this company also smart in a way try to diversify more to property development.

my 2 cents. i got observe this counter:
1. in the news link, the boss did mention no deal on table yet. their Olives Subang condo also not doin well, many units cannot sell.
2. their renewable energy biz. the biomass generation plant in Bera, Pahang, project owner is a company called Agni Power. I found a link that accuse this company very bad, cheat contractor cheat employee. and they held alot of stocks and exposure in this company.
3. YFG company lose massive money few years back, these few Q seem a turnaround. Got MRT project etc. Government high profile project also comes with Hi Risk. Binapuri get LRT project also the stock price down.
4. Good side is, this new MD seemed like able to turn around things. re-structure their debt, issue new stock to pay up bank. turn back company to black, no easy task.
This company seemed like a high flyers. but company depending on projects very seasonal and volatile. Ho Hup, Gamuda, Binapuri all has its high and lows. one screw up in any projects can wipe out entire earning and end up owing bank money.
if market environment stable, i might have buy it for medium term, but at volatile market now, too risky to keep any stock for longer term. now all talking bout hit n run but this stock keep slumbering
