I hate to say this. But all these conflicts are finally going to turn into a hot war. won’t be pretty sight. millions will die in the USA and China. People will look back at this one day and see what a tragedy that we allowed Trump to take over the USA. it will be a 3rd world war and will be the downfall of American global supremacy. China will emerge with victory over taiwan, but the pacific will belong to Russia. Japan will become a nuclear wasteland in this nuclear war between China and the USA.

America has an inflated sense of military accomplishments after bullying much weaker, non-nuclear powers for decades.

So 'decoupling' is starting to look real now, and maybe it's better given the current state of affair.
I think back to the time when they was a world without China in it; less than 40 years ago.
Most Asian countries and their people were enjoying growth well enough with little conflicts. Standards of living were improving at different pace, but growing.
The situation of the economies and high unemployment brought about by the spread of the coronavirus, makes it as good a time as any for that 'old world order' to rebuild itself. One that is without China.
