KUALA LUMPUR: Vivocom International Holdings Bhd has refuted news reports that its chief executive officer Datuk Seri Dr Yeoh Seong Mok plans to resign. The company, formerly known as Instacom Group Bhd, said on Monday that Yeoh “shall remain as the CEO” and that he has “no intention of leaving” the company. Vivocom, which is involved in construction, manufacturing and telecommunications, said it took note of its obligations under the listing requirements on timely disclosure of material developments. It also said it would make the necessary announcements of such pertinent matters accordingly. Last week, CIMB Equities Research said Vivocom should make it clear to investors about the status of Yeoh. The research house said this was necessary to lift the overhang on near term sentiment on the stock as there has been a great deal of speculation on the reasons for his potential early retirement. CIMB Research said the feedback was based on its engagement with retail, high net worth and institutional clients. The concerns over Yeoh’s leaving came to light last month from a media report that he may be looking for early retirement.

@darth what you mean by misleading? if you read back the Cash flow statement for Q1 report, the cash flow from operating activities are negative actually, the total cash flow become positive is because of cash flow from investing, i.e. private placement....so in my opinion now the BoD is doing the same, but instead of private placement, they do bonus issue

which in my opinion, i fully concur with such move, cause to maintain low debt level is always the smartest choice. Gearing ratio of 0.10....it's hard to get such a listed company already.

i am not sure whether share consolidation will have the same effect as bonus issue or not...can share consolidation utilise the fund in share premium account? if not, it won't help to ease the cash flow issue

i think everyone of us should be aware that somehow Vivocom is tight on the cash flow side, however the BoD due to their own reason, prefer not to raise debt from the banks...but on another side, they will want to reward the shareholders, but by paying dividen will further tighten up the cash flow. If issue bonus shares, the cash will remain in the company and also, the company can utilise the fund in the share premium to ease the cash flow issue. We have to think from the perspective of Board of directors.

anyway, we all also aware that, the prospect of the company is good, forecast profit will be few folds jump! so a roughly 25% of EPS dilution, should not be a concern if we all believe that the net profit of the company is going to jump for another few hundreds percent!
