Can pay or cannot pay is a separate story. The land size is not tht huge, but the rental income it’s going to contribute 10% to income, changes from variable income to fixed income.

Guys, u guys have to read the announcement clearly. It’s a 30 yrs land lease agreement to the Algae oil company. Bplant by no means a party of this Algae oil venture. It’s only a landlord. Given labour insufficient to harvest all FFB, it’s a good arrangement to have fixed income to hedge against CPO price drop in future.

Just wonder how bplant calculated the 11m profit from the land? And it’s based on what price? If it’s based on current spot rate then it’s fair, as bplant yield per acre is unspectacular, with this, they can concentrate their firepower on better yield estates.

At this economy environment, don’t think land price will be attractive. HOWEVER, CPO price is damn attractive…

Let’s be realistic, Sabah land though it’s huge, it needs time to push the production yield up. Sale of Penang land will only be feasible if Sabah lands’ production able to cover for the gap post land sales. Thus, unless the offer is very attractive, I don’t think the management will consider land sales now, for sustainability sake. My 2 cents.

Actually the low yield of Soy and CPO n labour issues are the reason why CPO price is high now. Kindly note, for higher production, u still need to incur production cost. But higher price will directly contribute to the profit margin.

And don’t buy any land anymore, it’s proven with bigger land bank, they tend to lose focus

I really hoped bplant can settle most of its loan during this high CPO time… once this burden removed, bplant can channel more funds to improve yield…
