Jonathan, minority view is not important, due to large holdings by LTAT directly and indirectly. Don’t compare FGV price against bplant, it’s not apple to apple.

Wht u commented is grandmother story, the management was totally revamped since 2018, they are now in the midst of their transformation plan. And outcome does not come overnight.
2020-12-29 12:15 | Report Abuse
So there are no need for LTAT to offer a big premium as it does not benefit them much if they were to privatise bplant.
2020-12-29 12:12 | Report Abuse
By keeping bplant listed, any land sales will trigger share price hike on both bplant and bstead and land disposal gain, which is triple impact. Though they will loose out some profits to MI, but the impact are amplified. The previous motivation of privatisation was to avoid further slide to share price which its stable now.

Well, if look at LTAT (and it’s related parties) total shareholding’s in bplant, you shld know it’s easy for them to privatise bplant. Minority shareholders can’t do much.

any idea how to check FFB market price? Now FCPO price have been increased abt RM200 for the past 2 days due to export tax. However, windfall tax for FFB only 3.0%/1.5% (depending on location, correct me if I am wrong). Hence, if FFB price increased by the same % per FCPO, bplant might get net benefit as a result of this episode.

No FCTR does not means bplant does not sell to foreigners, coz oil palm related products are mainly traded in RM
2020-12-26 01:58 | Report Abuse
The above can only mean bplant is having an upstream biz, meaning 1 subsi selling FFB to another subsi to process become CPO, mainly with Boustead Pelita Kanowit Oil Mill Sdn Bhd (BPKOM). If you read RRPT (page 152 of FY20 annual report) it does not show any significant transactions with any of the Bstead entities. Biggest transaction is with BPKOM, which is a subsi of bplant itself. Although I would be more happy to agree with you, facts disagrees.

Plantermen, where do they mention about this?
2020-12-25 14:38 | Report Abuse
All articles mentioned CPO export tax, is FFB subject to export tax too? Coz bplant mostly sell FFB, CPO is just a fraction of it.

There are no magic, after covid 19 ended, revenue for TG will drop drastically BUT they have HUGE babies to handle. So many CAPEX have been spent to increase the capacity, depreciation charge will comes with no sufficient income to cover. With lack of profit outlook, impairment will follow.

Mickey, now market already factored in lower output factor, in fact lower output that drives CPO price hike. Honestly, your comments speaks for itself about you. Lack of knowledge and always bet against market. You maybe right but that will be 1 in 10.

Bplant have the potential, dutaland purchase is a massive piece, once yield comes, there is no stopping bplant. The short term focus will be to earn as much as they can in this round of CPO rally and to payoff loans, with lower interest cost... perhaps if they can ink a 100-200mil worth of Penang land sales would be good...

If there isn’t any, thn it’s too bad. If there are, thn with low supply the price of the substitute will go up also, eventually the price of the substitute will equalise CPO... we are talking abt plant, not crude oil, u can pump crude oil to increase the supply, but u don’t expect plant to grow overnight...
