Most analyst projected earning for this Q1 2024 is about 500-600Millions, Most know the fact that it will be hard to hit 1.1 Billions profit this Q1'24, if it can hit 750-800Millions this Q1'24 with quarterly dividend to support YTL bigger dividend this year, it might not gap down/huge gap down. If profit 900-950 Million and above, it will be exceptional. In the end, it is continuous increase in profit that ensure stable and uptrend price. For those who has sold of course you will be praying for it to gap down. There is nothing wrong with that. You just make the decision to take profit into your pocket. For those decided to hold over earning, you have the long term view and faith in the company growth. CEO appear on CNBC/Bloomberg is NOT a major selling indicator. We don't know how it happened and the whole purpose of it. Let's cross your finger and see how the earning come in tomorrow after market close. If you want to know more on the company, attend the AGM on 05-Dec-2023. On 06 Dec 2023, it will be propose to be part for FBMKLCI, take effect on 18-Dec-2023. Good luck to all short short term investor, Mid Term and long term investor.

Singapore plans investments bill to strengthen national security

A Ministry of Trade and Industry statement on Friday said a proposed Significant Investments Review Bill seeks to allow the government to review ownership or control transactions involving entities considered critical to security.

(Nov 3): Singapore plans to introduce a bill that sets out a new investment management regime for investors in a bid to ensure the continuity of so-called “critical entities”.

A proposed Significant Investments Review Bill seeks to allow the government to review ownership or control transactions involving entities considered critical to security, according to a statement from the Ministry of Trade and Industry on Friday.

The government will be empowered “to review ownership or control transactions involving an entity that has acted against Singapore’s national security interests”, it said.

Inpage Mrec Ad
While Singapore already relies on a range of sectoral laws, which include ownership and control safeguards, to monitor and manage entities in regulated sectors such as telecommunications, banking and utilities, the new bill seeks to create a level playing field for both local and foreign investors by applying the rules to all equally.

Designated entities will also be subject to other provisions including not being able to be voluntarily wind up or be dissolved without consent.

“It is critical for Singapore to r
emain open and connected to the world, and as such we must continually strengthen our position as a trusted hub for businesses to invest with confidence,” Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong said. “We expect only a handful of critical entities to be designated under this bill.”

Here are some key details of the proposed bill:

Buyers into designated entities are required to notify after becoming a 5% controller
Must seek approval before becoming a 12%, 25%, or 50% controller, an indirect controller, or acquiring as a going concern (parts of) the business or undertaking
Sellers are required to seek approval when ceasing to be a 50% or 75% controller
Transactions that occur without the necessary approvals will be rendered void
Materially affected parties can apply for validation notices
Office of Significant Investments Review will be set up under MTI

(Oct 23): Singapore will centralise natural gas purchases in a bid to improve the stability and security of its power sector.

The nation will aggregate demand from generating companies, which will create economies of scale and allow Singapore to negotiate more favourable gas contracting terms and procure fuel from diverse sources, Minister for Trade & Industry Gan Kim Yong said at the Singapore International Energy Week conference.

“This is a fundamental shift in our approach toward gas procurement,” he said. “We believe that this is necessary to create a more stable and secure power system that will ultimately benefit the consumers and also the gencos themselves.”

Singapore uses natural gas for 95% of its power generation, and has previously given LNG procurement to firms including Pavilion Energy Pte and Shell Plc. The Energy Market Authority will consult on the details of the plans in the coming months, Gan said.
