Don't exaggerate about Qatar Calvin. We know you like Sendai gowing down very much. The middle east is a mess already for many many years but it is not true that there is war everywhere and Qatar is only a tiny part of the huge middle east. Diplomatic 'war' is not the same as bombing with physical destruction

good company but stock as dead as a doornail. Rm 0.66-0.72 is obviously the bandwidth

Rm 1.01 now. Positive interpretation of positive results

What director Mr Boey did was the right thing to express confidence. It is a shame that GP did not gave apart from the official Q1 result, a clear cut comment of confidence in her future to the shareholders. GP could have expected the market reaction on her, at first sight, bad and not promising results.

crawfish, I think you are completely right. This means that there is a still hidden asset under 'subsidiaries' of around Rm 40mio. However I do not think that GP will sell her stake in Yen because they had a clear cut strategic reason to buy it, IoT. Will take some time to develop but the potential is enormous.

Kyy angry? Did he also step into Jaks today (also up steeply)?
2017-05-19 14:59 | Report Abuse
Both Jaks and Sendai up steeply this afternoon with high volumes. Kyy again?

0.93 already! Bottom has been hit, shorters and negativists are out now. Reward for the positivos yeah

As the profit on G3 is made only when the stake is sold it will not be visible in the P&L and or earnings per share. It is an balance issue but who cares
2017-05-19 07:30 | Report Abuse
The (paper) profit on the 30mio G3 shares is now about Rm 40mio or 5 Sen earnings per GP share.

TP HLIB 0.78 but P/E they mention is 6,5 (2017) and 5,9 ('18). Valuation of P/E 10 would be still low taking into account the opportunities for their specialised products and technology. That would bring the TP over Rm 1
2017-05-18 13:08 | Report Abuse
Longterm TP of Hlib is 0.78 but they expect P/E of 6.5 in 2017 and 5.9 in 2018 (based on price of 0,63 as it was 2 days ago). Those figures are very sound and the company has a lot of opportunities with her specialised technologies and therefore I could imagine that a much higher P/E in the near future may be expected.
2017-05-18 10:12 | Report Abuse
TP by HLIB this morning restated at Rm 0.58. I have the impression that advices of HLIB are already known by 'insiders' before they come out. This could explain partly the price drop of last couple of days.
2017-05-17 09:17 | Report Abuse
Remarkable that many of the "Trading Ideas' of HLIB are going up significantly. Starting 15th at 0.63 and now 17th at 0.69

So today was a +Rm3mio paper gain for GP. Seems to be a very good investment apart from the IoT strategic issues

TP of Rm 2.65 but not clear when. Still a lot of potential and clear that KYY did not buy around Rm 1 last week for some sen's only

TP Rm 20!!! in 2020. Half of it is already magnificent. Anyway, do not sell to early

It is difficult (if not impossible) to interpret 2016 results of GP because of massive one time costs/earnings, deconsolidation etc.

Yang88, both stocks are highly recommendable and both have in my opinion a lot of opportunities. The OCK-WA has of course gearing but you pay for this around 30% premium. OK they last to 2020 but it remains a risk.If you have to choose GP or OCK shares (not warrants) what do you prefer?
2017-05-13 19:29 | Report Abuse
Real gain will be made only if they sell shares. I do not know how GP valuates her participations, could be on acquisition price

Thanks bkyc! With the current price of Yen Global of Rm 1.63 Gpacket made already a (paper) gain of around Rm 30 mio. Not bad and much more than with their operations.
2017-05-12 20:58 | Report Abuse
I do not understand the investment in Yen Global for an IT company although so far it is extremely positive financially. Have I missed something?

2017-05-02 18:15 | Report Abuse
There is probably a gap to be filled between 0.80 and 0.83. Same happened september 2016 around a then existing gap at 0.46 - 0.48

You are right Kang Yoon and then the target will be around Rm 5.50

2017-04-12 18:04 | Report Abuse
The problem with airlines in general is that profits can not easely be predicted and can vary enormously from year to year. Strong dependency on not predictable fuel prices, no stable travellers group, non expected tax increases in several countries etc This explains the low PE. Almost the same as in the steel sector which also in very good years goes along with pretty low PE's.

Some technical indicators (MACD, RSI) positive now. I would not be surprised we will see the 0.70 - 0.75 range soon again

0.83 now. Next technical target would be 0.89

After the huge write-downs in 2016 the potential losses have been taken. Coming quarters will be positive again. How much? we will have to wait but the orderbook looks fantastic with likely more positive things to come.
