brianklc, those are not friendly parties but related parties to KLK. Insiders will use random names/accounts like ah kow, ah chong, ahmad, muthu, ali, ah moi, samy, etc to buy. Totally not related and cannot be linked to the insiders unless one or more of them confess or whistle blow. That is why insider trading is so hard to prosecute.

brianklc, if you understand the modus operandi of an insider, they always buy using trusted retail third party names or friendly parties and always keeping it under 5% stake. This way they don't need to announce anything and fly under the radar or the regulators.

Makes you wonder why did KLK offer so high price in the first place only to come to their senses now? They cannot be so bodoh right. Was there insider trading taking place? Were they long big in BPlant before the first announcement and dump it to those who chased thereafter. So easy to make a bundle. Stock market is really an insiders' game. Outsiders need to be really careful and prudent.

Agree. Hard to explain to people who only get excited and chase when price starts moving up. They are not willing to analyze and buy good shares on the cheap and wait patiently. Most has the goreng mentality. Equity investment is long term, just like FD and property. Short term hit and hope is just gambling.

HLI has plenty of cash, a dominant market share, bright prospect going forward with the implementation of targeted petrol subsidy. Makes great economic sense to take it private. The shrewd, savvy and opportunist like Quek will surely be aware of this and is getting ready to pounce before gets too expensive. Too cheap and lucrative to ignore and share.

HLI can and will also be market leader in electric scooter lor. No big deal and no problem. We have the means, size, expertise and connection.

Will competition from many new electric scooter players impact HLI? Trust the board and management are on top of the game and we remain taikor in our core business.
