The Group reported a Losses Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (“LBITDA”) of
RM442.75 million as against an Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation
(“EBITDA”) of RM244.99 million y-o-y, mainly due to the non-cash impairment loss on the ethanol
plant under construction, impairment of goodwill in order to reflect the fair valuation of assets and
additional project costs provided upon closure of certain long outstanding projects during the current
financial year.

Without all non-cash adjustments, the Group would have reported an EBITDA of
RM90.95 million in the current financial year.

Consequently, the Group reported a loss before tax (“LBT”) of RM634.73 million in the current
financial year as against a profit before tax (“PBT”) of RM81.14 million y-o-y, mainly due to finance
costs incurred for certain projects under construction within the Group which have been expensed off
into income statement in the current financial year.

Green light for £330m Woking high-rise cluster

Malaysian developer EcoWorld London has finally got the green light to build a cluster of high rise flats in Woking town centre providing over 900 homes.

The controversial Goldsworth Road development in Woking won a planning appeal after four storeys were shaved on the tallest tower lowering it to 36 storeys.

The new scheme provides 965 units along with over 14,000m² of commercial space and a new homeless shelter over five buildings.

The project has a development value of around £330m and is expected to cost around £190m to build.

EcoWorld London, which gained a swathe of sites after buying up Willmott Dixon Homes assets, will be starting on site as soon as possible, with work expected to commence towards the end of 2022.

The planning approval was given following an appeal of the initial decision in January 2021.

Strong demand in the capital boosting London’s property prices

Sustained demand from London property buyers during October has seen a 22% increase in the number of offers being made and a 26% uplift in agreed sales compared to September, according to analysis from estate agency, Chestertons.

At the same time, the market remains under pressure as supply continues to nudge down with 18% fewer properties available for sale in October than the previous month.

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 1): The FBM KLCI slumped as much as 28.31 points or 1.81% on Monday morning, as investors reacted negatively to the announcement of a one-off special windfall tax.

The KLCI opened 16.32 points lower at 1,545.99, and slipped to a low of 1,534 before paring losses at 1,535.72 at the time of writing.

All sectors were in the red on Monday morning, with financial services, construction and property indices registering the biggest losses.

BORSIG GmbH withdrew from the contract for the sale of BORSIG ZM Compression GmbH

In August 2019, BORSIG GmbH signed a purchase agreement for the sale of its subsidiary BORSIG ZM Compression GmbH ("BZM") to a company of the INGC Group (Iskra-Neftegaz Compressor Limited Liability Company; "INGC"), Russian Federation. The purchase agreement provided for the sale to be completed by December 2019. Since the sale was not completed in accordance with the contract, BORSIG GmbH had withdrawn from the purchase contract. In the meantime, renegotiations with the buyer side have been canceled due to a lack of results.
