Singapore's GIC selling most of their stake in Sunway. Knee-jerk reaction. Who knows? Maybe the weak ringgit plays a part in this decision.

According to the Financial results today, MITRA's EPS at 3.41 sen for the last quarter. EPS 7.43 sen for YE2013. Board of Directors recommending a 2 sen dividend (just over 4% based on current market price). MITRA dividends are usually announced in May.

2013 Profit higher than 2012, but to be fair, this is mainly due to disposal gain on investment in an associate company (3.8m profit).

Only major concern with this stock is probably their cashflow - relatively high short-term borrowings and bank overdrafts. Somewhat risky, given the sluggish property market.

On the plus side, Net Asset per share at 88 sen. Stock might still have some 'kick' left in it.

Most of the commercial office REITs (AMFIRST, UOAREIT, QCapita, etc) have dropped a bit in the last 2 weeks. Dividend Yields are now hovering around 8%, which we haven't seen since 2009. As for rumours of AmBank moving out, I doubt it - remember that the AmBank Group owns around 40% of AMFIRST, and it would be akin to shooting themselves, unless they can find another client to take up the vacated office space.

Glad I managed to unload my shares last week at 65 sen. Would be tempted to buyback at 55 sen.

The problem is that they are competing directly with the likes of KFC, McDonald's, Burger King and Wendy's. The last time I ate at an A&W the burgers were substandard - the meat wasn't well cooked, and tasted like it had been sitting in the cold for hours. The rootbeer was flat and didn't have any oomph! Focus on Food Quality, Affordability & Location. It's not rocket science!
