The California state epidemiologist has recommended that the state pause the distribution of more than 330,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine after a “higher than usual” number of people showed signs of a possible severe allergic reaction.
The recommendation comes at a dire moment in California, which is experiencing one of the most acute outbreaks in the nation. About 40,000 people are testing positive each day — the equivalent of the daily caseload for the entire United States as recently as September — and California’s hospital beds are filling up.
The state epidemiologist, Dr. Erica S. Pan, made the recommendation “out of an extreme abundance of caution” after several people who received the vaccine at one community clinic needed medical attention in the span of 24 hours. Each appeared to experience a possible “severe” allergic reaction, and officials recommended not using other vaccines from that batch until an investigation was completed, the health department said in a statement on Sunday.

@Pyh96, for your information my investment in bursamalaysia since the pandemic is among the best in my share investment history as I always chose to buy low when everyone so scared of buying. Just keep the share and wait for it to rebound strongly then you going to gain a lot with your patience. DON'T PLAY CONTRA if you don't want to lose your hard-earned money !!
2021-01-20 21:16 | Report Abuse
@Pyh96, I'm not a contra player. I buy for investment not quick profit. I've done the same for AAX and AirAsia when many small fish like you so scared of bottom fishing.

Give you chance to buy much lower than last week. Still waiting for 20 cents ? Only if it triggered PN17 !! The company is going to sell gloves...still a good venture in longer term if covid-19 pandemic continue much longer. If company stick to the present business, the financial performance will surely much worst without the new venture.
2021-01-20 21:08 | Report Abuse
Today volume done already shrunk significantly means sellers almost ran out of shares to sell. Only those weak contra players are selling. Time to accumulate more if fall around 30 cents.

Already down 8 days.. tomorrow still down ? This must be human act since no negative news about PNEPCB. Human act won't last forever. Surely the price should rebound strongly to the pre announcement of glove business in a few days time.

Those kiasi ikan bilis never be able to buy any shares in bursamalaysia. They just good in talking bla bla bla. Those daring investors in AAX and AirAsia already laughing all the way to their bank when they bought both at 4 cents and 50 cents a few months back.

Get ready for strong rebound. Don't believe ? Then happy waiting at 20 cents. Just like what happened to AAX and AirAsia when kiasi ikan bilis said they waiting to buy at 1 cent and 30 cents respectively. Until today still waiting !!! LOL !

No negative news to support the sharp fall... just a proposal to venture into glove business. What's wrong company wanted to sell gloves ? Covid-19 pandemic may last for many years to come, vaccine just to slow it down but won't be able to totally wiped out the virus.

Glove business should still be a very luxurious as the covid-19 will definitely won't diminished anytime soon. Why sellers so influenced by the convicted and untrustworthy J,P,M negative report on gloves ?

The price now is way below the price before it announced their venture into glove business. No other negative reason for it to drop so much. Definitely selling is overdone. Watch out for strong rebound today.

With long-term glove demand growth remaining intact — even after Covid-19 ends — we believe that the selling on PNEPCB shares is overdone.

If covid-19 could not be contained this year, the share price of Pnepcb should easily touch 2.00 by end of the year.
2021-01-17 21:45 | Report Abuse
Just propose to sell gloves, why sellers so anxious to unload Pnepcb ? Glove should give huge profit to the company if covid-19 last until 2025. Covid-19 is not expected to disappear anytime soon even with the vaccines.

Short seller(s) might not want to close the short position on Monday. However, there are (at least)
3 factors that might force their hand:
1) Would it be viable to keep the short position open when the stock has actually risen in price (except for Kossan's) compared to the closing price from December 31, the last trading day before the shorting started? And this albeit the RM2 billion in short sales.
2) The upper limit of 4% for the net short position (i.e. the volume of shorted shares not bought back yet) specifically for Top Glove is approaching. According to the latest data published by Bursa the net short position on Top Glove stands at 2.80%, but that data lags by 1 day (see my explanation on that here). On Friday 1.5 million shares of Top Glove were shorted, so unless some part of the position has been closed, the net short currently stands at 2.82%, or 1.18% below the limit. The short position on Kossan, after Friday, likely stands at 2.14% of the company's outstanding stock.
3) The short seller(s) might not be able to find a willing lender of shares. At present, the short seller(s)'s best move appears to be to try one last massive attack, like the one from January 4, where they could cause panic sale, so that the market share prices could drop as much as possible. However, for some reason the short seller(s) have not done that yet, albeit the huge paper loss they are sitting on. One of the reasons might be precisely the inability to procure the necessary quantity of shares to execute on that plan.
In a nutshell, the short seller might currently be in a difficult position. If they do not continue shorting on a daily basis, the price may jump even more. But if they do continue to short, their losses are just going to continue rolling. Thus, closing quickly might be the best possible scenario, unless they hold a large volume of borrowed shares that they could short sell, and then buy back quickly after the market price tumbles down.
We will see how things play out next week.

THE glove sector is getting a boost from Gas Malaysia Bhd which made a downward revision of its average selling price (ASP) of natural gas for the distribution segment yesterday.
This follows a 34.21% or RM11.51/MMBtu decrease in ASP to RM22.14/MMBtu for 1Q 2021 from RM33.65/MMBtu for 2020.
However, the caveat is that the natural gas selling price will be reset every quarter in 2021 unlike an annual review as in 2020.
“We expect the lower natural gas selling price to have a positive impact on earnings (about 1%) of rubber glove manufacturers,” projected TA Securities Research analyst Tan Kong Jin, pointing to the fact that natural gas accounts for circa 13% of glove production cost
