those keep saying EPF no longer substanstial shareholder bla bla bla...
EPF owned 412 million shares on Dec 18, which is 5.03% stake. they dispose 14 million share means they still own almost 400 million shares...just below the 5% stake to be considered a "substanstial shareholder".
Use your own brain and judgement to analyze the news whether EPF is 'dumping' their share or just trimming.

china loosen their monetray policy and vow more fiscal spending. I noticed whenever china stock sentiment and economy improve so does this counter. I guess market correlate genting casino performance with chinese consumer sentiments.

@ytl2023 if we long term investor, why take profit now? it is still below its 200d MA (4.1), breach rm4 then maybe consider take a bit profit, unless you held zero shares before and bought all your stock at 2.9 two weeks ago.

nice, 8% of my portfolio is invested in chinese stocks via 2 HKEX Etfs, tracker fund of hk (2800) and ishares china A50 (2823). the former is for "offshore chinese stock exposure" like tencent baidu alibaba etc, while the latter is for "onshore" mainland only china bluechips. Did not sell at all during the september runup, which I think was a mistake as I lost a chance to take a 30% profit, but am long for a time horizon that is years out.

acquisition is paid via cash and debt, no new shares issuance, so no share dilution.

net earnings impacted mainly due to unrealized FX losses on their USD borrowing (130 mil this Q1 vs 40 mil preceding quarter). otherwise EBITDA grew 24% qoq.

I disagree with OTB open letter’s premise on asking ytl to make warrant tradable. More so because he claims he is a value long term investor. So am I.
Tradable warrant only benefits short term punter looking to trade on this position. The warrant has a three year option. There is not much merit to the argument that minority shareholders face capital constraints to exercise the option given such a long lead time to raise funds ( or even sell one lot out of five to exchange for the 2.45 option, thus lowering cost basis).
The only thing you can argue for is to withdraw the rights issue given the potential short term EPS dilution. I don’t think there is much merit in this argument either unless you really believe that ytl future prospect is dim and they have no need for such fresh capital or to pay down debts.
