Based on the land sales and letter of awards for reclamation and the steady flow of cash, I do believe Benalec share price should worth at least 1.60+, without Tg Piah & Pengereng reclamation project and also STP2 land reclamation yet to announced.

The point that highlight by savvyOne on the buy-back of shares of 50M based on the company flush with cash might be true. I have search through the annoucement on the Bursa as follows:-

Land Sales to Faithview (S&P signed on 17/12/2013
and the Final Payment of 90 days after signing of S&P) RM 49,978 M

Land Sales to Teobros (S&P signed on 13/03/2014
and the terms of payments, upon signing of S&P 10%,
after 7 days, 10%) Total 20% collected. RM 9,623 M

Land Sales to Ultra Harmony (S&P signed on 20/03/2014
and 10% upon signing of S&P) RM 23,513 M

Cash collection expected in June, 2014 :-

Land Sales to Teobros (Balance of 80% after 90 days

Base on the above cash collection summary, i believe that the Company's have to fund to do the shares buy-back as much as they can.

Benalec have been actively buying back the Company's share for the last 3 days for a total of 5,872,500 shares at the average price of 0.955.

Why do a company's want to do share buy-back :-

1. Such action can be an indication that the Company's believes the stock price is undervalued and also don't see any better investment other than in themselves.

2. The Company's is saying that its share are currently selling at a discount to their fair value.

3. The Company's find itself with a large amount of excess cash on its hands and must decide what to do with it. Some choose to give dividends while others prefer to buy back their own shares.

4. When a Company spends its cash, its assets are reduced. This will cause the Return on Assets (ROA) to increase. Also, Return On Equity (ROE) is upped because there is less outstanding share floating in the market.

5. Companies may find themselves in a position where another company is planning an unfriendly or hostile takeover. If a company can succeed in buying back a substantial amount of its own shares, this make it more difficult to be taken over.

Conclusion :-

Investors obviously would like Companies to buy back shares of their own because they are currently undervalued. The market has yet to realize the Company's true value and once it does, they would enjoy the price appreciation.

Beginner1989 , What SJSOON says is true. Gadang is good and fundamental company. At the moment the downtrend is temporary because all the news have been announced. That's why the syndicate is selling. Wait for next 1or 2 weeks, the price will slowly climb up to TP 2.67. Be happy always.
