（槟城12日讯）槟州首席部长林冠英表示，他不反对吉打兴建第三个机场，不过联邦政府应先提升槟州国际机场，以显示不是故意边缘化槟州。他同时也要求槟州国阵主席邓章耀与槟州政府站在同一阵线，一起争取机场扩建。
“在吉打是否兴建第三个机场，是联邦政府的决定，但是槟州政府要求联邦政府先提升槟州国际机场，如果联邦政府不提升槟州国际机场而在吉打兴建新机场，就很明显是故意边缘化槟州的复仇行为。”
林冠英今天在记者会上表示，前来槟城的外国及本地游客人次逐年增加，机场游客人次从2013年自今的6年期间增加了550万人次，而槟国际机场目前的乘客饱和点是650万人次而已，预料到了明年就会将超出负荷。
他也对槟州反对党指州政府不争取扩建槟城国际机场的言论感到遗憾。他说，早在2009年，他就已经致函时任交通部长拿督斯里翁诗杰，要求提升槟州国际机场，但是不获回复。
“联邦政府不可以因为故意忽略、排挤、歧视槟城，而不提升槟州国际机场。”
吁邓章耀站同一阵线
同时，林冠英也要求槟州国阵主席邓章耀与槟州政府站在同一阵线，向联邦政府申请扩建槟州国际机场。

吉打呈建机场报告
（亚罗士打3日讯）吉打州政府经已向首相署经济策划单位呈交，建议在该州建新国际机场的相关数据。
首相署部长拿督斯里阿都瓦希今日在吉打大臣办公室出席第11大马计划匯报会后对媒体指出，虽然目前商討此事仍言之过早，但当局將探討如何实行此计划。
他坦言，新机场一事仍有待研究其需求和实践方案，除了在財务方面外，也包括目前我国所拥有的其他基础设施，以及整体的兴建概念等。
