For those who earn 8k a month prior to retirement, if you expect him to live on 8-10k a month, surely he will live a better life after retirement.

For those who earn 50k a month and spending 30k every month, asking him to live on 8-10k budget will drastically lower his quality of life.

So whether having 2 million or 1 million is good enough for to live another 30 years after retirement doesn't make any sense. All boil down to your spending habit and your earning power/saving discipline/ability to generate passive income after retirement.

Also need to factor in inflation/periodic replacement of one off big ticket item like car/long term care/ medical expenses for the old age.

I heve never been Tan SRi Glove enemy, and never been acted like one. Firstly, I just giving my opinion all glove counters not a good buy right now.
Secondly, I just giving my opinion SBB was not really effective as a tool to help its share price.
Thirdly, Tan Sri Glove already wasted a golden opportunity to maximize potential of using windfall profit to grow Top Glove business like YTL.

I never say he is bad boss. He just made a very grave mistake to drain away so much cash instead of using the crisis to reap maximum profit for the shareholders. If he paid attention to how YTL growing to what it is now, Top Glove shareholders will benefit even more.

But the opportunity cost was so enormous!

You should learn from other people's mistake. To learn from your own mistake could be very costly.

What is the difference when come to SBB Parkson vs Top Glove?
Parkson started SBB from 6.70 (01.04.2008) all the way to 0.615 (31.01.2017) for whopping rm 2.1 billion.
Top Glove started SBB from 8.00 (04.09.2020) to 6.70 (02.12.2020) with lowest price paid 6.12 (10.09.2020).
Both companies were buying back everyday non-stop, and prices still drifting downwards non-stop.
Why SBB?
Why even with non-stop SBB (created artificial demand) but sellers keep coming?
Who are the sellers?
Why supplies exceed demands?
Simple logic of supply/demand equilibrium and you need not be an economist to understand that!

It was then past continuous event at the height of the pandemic. At that time Top Glove still flushed with cash. It was the failure not able to make use of the financial muscle to make sound investment like acquiring land and property. YTL was good during earlier financial crisis to acquire so much property in Bukit Bintang from distress owners.

Agree Tan Sri Glove gave so much dividend to all shareholders very good, including himself. BUT BUT it was the lousy move spending so much money SBB, just like the Meow Meow King in Parkson. Any difference between the both? Share price still going holland.

Top Glove earlier profit was real. That is the reason it can declare so much dividend, not like HYR. More so when Tan Sri Glove initiated SBB which was a very very grave mistake to drain company's financially.

You should buy into Top Glove only after all these fly-by-night close shop. Not to say Top Glove not good, merely the environment not conducive for the time being.

Not Asians are helping Ukraine. It is only one Singaporean and no others.

Face mask manufacturers in China mostly already close shop. US sole manufacturer three quarter dead. Next round surely many Malaysian glove manufactures will close shop. Not sure how many in fact already close shop, but at least we know Harta scales down the suppose expansion near Kayu Hitam.

What blue chip? Already yellow chip lah. It is still a lemon until all fly-by-night close shop.

FED expected to raise interest rate up to 5.75% before easing.

To believe HYR made rm 10 per share, is to believe 'Cow can jump over the moon'.

Top Glove profit was real, so did the dividend pay out.

HYR profit was dubious, so it couldn't pay that sort of dividend.

If company claimed to make rm 10 per share, can only afford to pay you 10 sen dividend. Do you still think the profit is real?

If you cannot trust its audited account, and if you think the account is grossly unbelievable, what should you do?

A lot depends on BOD. BOD not credible and no integrity, company go fly kite.

HSR is good for JB-KL-Penang minus Singapore. Singaporeans love to piggy back and take advantage on Malaysian tax payers. Ask them to go fly kite.

Taiwan digging its own grave, so as TSMC. Once 3nm, 4nm, 5nm all produce in US, TSMC chips cannot sell to the world biggest customer, i.e. China, but only can sell to US and its machai. TSMC ball will be squeezed if not taking order from the US. Again Taiwan survival will no more critical to the US and its machai, can let it fall and die, who care?

It is not a buy call. It is an example of how fierce year end window dressing can be, just like tsunami wave after wave. Already having lorry load, just wait to unload towards the end of the year.
Anyway, buy low sell high is the way to make money.

Red Chips are master of creative accounting. Any difference between HYR and XinQuan or any other Red Chips?

If you have no confidence in the company's BOD, don't go near to it. If your already been trapped inside, vote with your legs. For Red Chips, safest is just ignore it. Don't bother to believe in what their External Auditor need to say. Xinquan is a very good example, where cash in the bank can just disappear without a trace. HYR being a Red Chip stock, it is no different from other Red Chips.

DSAI's Unity Govt should be safe for next 5 years. Unlikely to change 3 PM in 5 years with those political frogs jumping here and there to look for biggest benefits.

At least Genting, Magnum, Sport Toto, Big Sweep, Turf Club all safe. Govt income on gaming tax, corporate tax, entertainment tax will not be affected.
