Yes, 1MDB-Mitsui has been awarded the project. But do you think 1MDB can deliver without a technical partner? They are just a pet company used to win projects to benefit a selected few. They will need Mudajaya's backing as mentioned by many news articles.

Wining the project doesn't mean they will do everything themselves. More than likely they will just dish out subcontracts so people will do the job for them.

The size: 4 units of 360 mw, totaling 1440 mw.

Total construction cost: 1440 mw X USD$ 1.5 million X 3.20 = RM 6,912 million.

Coal consumption: 1440 mw X 4,500 ton = 6,480,000 ton per year

Coal consumption cost at USD$ 30 per ton = 6,480,000 X 30 X Rm 3.20 = Rm 622 million per year.

Power line construction cost: Rm 2 million per kilometer, total length required ??

Mudajaya holds 26% in this joint venture and its estimated profit is about Rm 70 million per year for 25 years.

By the way, with regards to the sale of machinery or construction equipment by Mudajaya, it is just a normal business procedure to to rid off old and outdated inventory. As they are the master/main contractor for most of the projects being undertaken, the work is done by sub-contractors who have their own equipment.

Therefore, this is not indicative of a negative outlook on their order book. Nor it is a desperate attempt to raise cash, for the purpose of dividend payments or other obligations.

This is just my feedback to some who might view this issue as a big red flag for Mudajaya.

I suggest those who plan to call the IR guy to approach with professionalism as they have a trained ear to assess the caller. I believe they only entertain serious inquiries as they do not readily address the concerns of retail shareholders (not that they do not matter, but most of the time the questions are not specific and the inquiry is more emotional than factual). Just my 2 cents on how to best extract information on them.

So for those who can't wait till Q3 you are free to dispose the shares or not buy in at this moment.

This guy is a substantial shareholder of MMC and Mulpha. And lately Mudajaya has acquired two subsidiaries from him, Piala Tebrau and Indah Kirana (purchase of remaining 1,000 shares out of 4,000 shares of Indah Kirana).

And coincidentally, Straits Global has re-emerged as a 5% shareholder of Mudajaya Group Bhd in May, before the acquisitions were made.

Nothing much can be found about this guy, as well as both the subsidiaries sold to Mudajaya... He may or may not be acting on some mastermind's behalf.

Something is definitely cooking in the oven...

I'm hoping someone could ask the directors how much of an impact the Ampang LRT extension project has on the income stream of GKent. I'm hoping to attend the AGM but still unsure of my schedule yet.

Not sure if they have other big-ticket projects targeted.

AhMoi, a quick desktop research shows that Brahmal used to own more than 5% in 'Tua'jaya 2010, while it was reported that in 2011 his stake was just around 1%.

In terms of balance sheet it is nothing spectacular. In terms of catalyst (news, projects, etc.) it does not have any strong factor.

liming32, I don't think I'm a qualified professional to give advice so just take this as my personal opinion.

When buying a stock, most people only buy when they see the price dropping cos they feel it's a 'bargain'.

I buy based on the potential upside of the stock, even if it has risen. If your TP for A&M is 1.80, you are still making a good margin at 1.36.

If upside potential is way greater than the downside risk, then I would always buy.
