i like to say this is expected. not a proven model! but nonetheless, let's see what TF has up his sleeves. he is getting in more distanced routes (India, Japan?, Europe) for long hauls!

LOL @alien79 good one! all AA fault.
Even if spender tak boleh fit! LOL
2013-08-20 17:24 | Report Abuse
the only level of comparison for airlines is cost/available seat per KM, but i dunno he is using which pythogaras theory to smear AA. AA has yet proven that they are running at around US$0.04 ASK (not including fuel). that is super efficiency!
clarification: US0.04 ASK of (not per) 1000km
2013-08-20 17:23 | Report Abuse
can bet you BBQ is going to study what is ASK tonight! LOL
2013-08-20 17:11 | Report Abuse
and BBQ, please stop talking as though Malindo is at the same level playing field as AA. Even Lion Air is not! so get your facts straight!
2013-08-20 17:10 | Report Abuse
now let's talk fuel. all airlines will face same predicament if not hedged. Lion air has that problem. and they are taking 200 airbuses within two year whilst not hedging their fuel! AA, on the other hand, has hedged til 2015. and they are ordering the same number of planes in the next 15 years. taking only one particular plane model, they have increased efficiency towards cost!
i think Tony is right. Lion Air, could probably bit off more than they could chew, if they cannot get load factor. from my calculation, they need load factor above 88% to achieve profit level, something not coming soon as i can see in the near future. Malindo could face dark clouds if the parent company goes under!
clarification : new batch of planes! no hedging yet for Lion Air

problem is, he thinks AA is a small airline like Malindo. But AA is currently world's best low cost airline. and to be no.1, you got to expect cost at that level, because their earnings is definitely above that! so, that's what i said! he is talking rubbish!

up or down market is normal. the question you gotta ask is, is AA making money and profit or not?
2013-08-20 16:31 | Report Abuse
today market down, we can accept la, but not accept rubbish posting based on ignorance la! aiyo this small boy!

if you ask me, i said tapering should have been done last Q. the pussyfooting around is actually allowing hedge managers making killing from developing countries! India and Indonesia is prime suspect since last week!

Mr Market at his usual best. trying to find some bargain here!
2013-08-20 11:03 | Report Abuse
Tapering means only USA is recovering. Europe is mending, with Germany leading the way, china from strong industrial data, and Japan with more easing. I actually now see a bull forming if all these in place!
