If you have a plane that is late on schedule, you don't have any backup planes to cover, you are going to be sued off your pants unless you initiate compensation. That is why, even the big boys wants to join airline alliances for economic of scales. AAX is not with any alliance. that is one possible danger. The other danger is fuel hike. Although one can hedge, but market forces still dictates your margins. That's why Warren doesn't like airlines, and i suspect this has somewhat also influence a lot of analyst houses.

LCC on the other hand, is essential. something like the bus, but only this time it takes you across seas and possibly oceans. Southwest has been showing the way for a good 3 decades how its done! AirAsia is not the only profitable LCC in the world!
