laugh die me, LOLLLLL
these noobs who wanna buy but scared to buy, are talking as if they can influence the price and force the bank to change management with their NIL or 0 shareholding
like it or not, banks are uptrend and big players coming in to close the gap if you know the chart
if you don't like it, just sell. big players are waiting to gobble your shares cheap
or missed the flight? learn to move on, thousands of companies are listed on bursa
sure you can find one rather than bs here

haiyahhhhhhhh you ppl bother so much about who's buying for what?
accept the fact that banks are uptrend and this bank has been laggard
dividend or not important meh? look at the price, it has been priced in, OK?
by the time dividend resumes, it will be trading at 3.5 - 4.0
these facts are so obvious and if you did not see it you simply do no deserve the profits
no need look at who's buyign and selling

Too bad for those naysayers who wanna buy but scared to buy. Only know how to waste time here, while smart ones were busy accumulating. That’s why rich gets richer

Buy shares is 1+1? Before settlement 3.2 minus settlement 1.0 so ‘fair value‘ is 2.2?
Fulamak!! No need look at other variables and market conditions, these noobs very pandai

no more show here, worst scenario is factored in current price
institutions are not willing to sell cheap considering potential gain at least 20% in < 1 year
so price will stabilize here
picked up some at 2.81 for the uptrend of recovery play, bye
2021-03-03 12:01 | Report Abuse
it was a calculated risk, hardly gambling
if you know what you are buying then you won't piss in your pants
i will buy more when the price stabilizes
timeline is 6-9 months, it should be trading above 3.3
when interest rate will likely start to increase and dividend resumes
at current price, it's a gain of at least 20% in less than a year
maybe 20% is nothing to naysers, but it's significant for big players/institutions
OkieDokie "melanie1818181818 bought 2.65 sold 2.80 200k shares"
I salute your courage in doing this, great job !
Just a reminder this pure gambling acts may not work everytime. lol

ANZ is valuing ambank at 3.6/share after write down
big sharks are not noobs to sell a profitable bank at low valuation, especially banks are uptrend and interest rate will start to rise as soon as end of 2021/early 2022

if you don't know how to calculate profitabilty, check this out
ZeaXG Halo, rational a bit can or not? AMBANK still has NAV of 5.22 after taking into account of the settlement. Considering they are still making profits of RM250mil per quarter, which is about 8.5sen per share. At RM3.20, that's about P/E 10. Assuming they issue new debts of RM3bil @ interest rate of say 4% p.a., profits will be reduced by RM30mil per quarter, ie. quarterly profits are now RM220mil (7.50 sen earnings per share). Adjusted PE is 10.7.

for noobs, don't simply listen to naysers
ask yourself, is this a structural issue affecting profitability?
or simply a legacy issue? how's the profitability going from here on?
do you think a profitable bank can trade at ridiculously low pbv?
the lousiest and least efficient affin trades at 0.40, ambank is much more profitable ok?
for those naysers

don't be silly la, 1.50 is too high (1.50/5.40 = pbv 0.28)
my crystal ball says it will go to the level of mbsb around 0.50 or pbv < 0.10
reason is coz you ppl want mah.. talk no need capital one

check what is the shareholder's fund and capital of these banks in 1997

currently the worst and least efficient bank affin is also trading at 0.4 pbv, use your brain

I think shareholders would rather stop doing business than simply paying 2.8b.
After settling all the obligations, still can keep 20b which is about 6.4/share.
As the sixth largest bank handling 110b loan, ceasing business will impact the liquidity of financial banking system. So, it is mind-boggling how they can simply agree to pay 2.8b.
Did the management ever fought for the interest of shareholders?
Worst, what is the wrongdoing it is being penalized for?
Goldman is penalized US3.9b for raising and dubiously diverting US6.5b bonds.
What did this camel did to warrant such massive settlement?

what do you wanna see?
i already queued to buy at limit down price 2.22
very likely to get it at the opening due to panic selling, expect the price to slowly recover after open
at 2.22, pbv is 0.4 and pe is 7.4 assuming eps 30 cents/share earnings
if you think not cheap enough, buy in batches
OkieDokie /melanie1818181818., you are probably right on institutional fund, we shall see next Monday. May be can switch asome stocks from gloves to bank, if the drop is significant enough.

Actually in the US, bank management will be sued by the shareholders and compensation will be recovered from them. Only in boleh land management can still get esos and paid high salary and get away with losing 10% of retained earnings
2021-02-26 23:58 | Report Abuse
Current nta 6.4 - 1.0 = 5.4, recent price 3.2/5.4 = 0.6. So pb value is 0.6 instead of 0.5, lose about 10% of retained earnings 20b. There’s a reason that the price stuck around 3, institutional investors/ funds knew about this all this while

“Great wealth is created when you buy a stock that is out of favour or see something that no one sees.”
Now, it is the bank, 6 months ago, it was gloves.
Many ppl including myself made millions. So the timing of epf buying gloves is highly questionable. Especially when IB started telling the truth that such special event does not warrant the usual PE. Mind that IB conveniently forgot about this and assigned the usual fwd PE 30-40x during the MCO. Now it’s revised to 15-20x, and every Tom dick and Harry know gloves will have good profits, it’s already the distribution phase. Those who are singing good about gloves now are latecomers joining the party and repeating what is already known to everyone, how to make good money?

Nothing to be surprised. Common tactic press and collect, works especially well in weak marker conditions. Ald 10 year low plus double bottom, upside more than downside, unless you think cimb the 2nd largest in bolehland will not survive. Alliance made me good money, bounced back like a rocket

Now ad in recovery phase, end of opr cuts, retailers cashing out from stock market to pay loan, few months back, zero loan collection. Noii should have bottomed during mco. Provisions should stay elevated but active and pre-emptive provisioning has been done, should be manageable. Next two quarters should have another 2b of provisions in total, as guided by management. But ad priced in atm, share market moves faster than qr results
Jeffreyteck Strong support around $2.80 for the past few months, believe eventually will down to $2.50 as worst has yet to hit banking sector.

Rate cut is not the main issue, in fact net interest income improved 6% despite the historic low opr. The killer is loan provisions, especially the bulky 1b full provisions made for two accounts which slashed about 10 cents from net profits this year
