You are correct. If you are holding Encorp share, will you sell it to Felda at 1.55 ? You will sell if market price is < 1.55. If the price is > 1.55, you will not sell.
Felda does not have any intention to take it private, hence the price of Encorp should be supported > 1.55 so that all share holders will not want to sell their shares to Felda. It will be very costly to buy back all the shares. It is cheaper that Felda supports the price > 1.55.
If next quarter result is good, the stock price will be > 1.55. In this case, Felda buys it at a very good deal price and does not need to support the share price.
Assume you want to buy a listed company at 1.55, do you do your homework that this deal is a good deal to you and you buy it at a good price.
Thus, I believe the stock price will be higher > 1.55 in next 6 months and next quarter result must be good.
It is just my opinion, I may be wrong.
