Despite the challenging operating environment due to significant drop in crude prices, the Board of Directors remains positive on the Group’s prospects over the medium term given that the Group still has an order book of RM1.97 billion as of 16 February 2015 which is secured over the next 3 years.

COASTAL

Of the total order book, shipbuilding orders constituted RM1.5 billion, comprising 21 OSVs and other vessels to be delivered to customers until 2017. The balance order book of RM1.3 billion is for the construction and charter of a gas compression service unit to Petróleos Mexicanos, targeted for delivery and charter commencement in the second half of 2015.

Something very interesting shown in Coastal balance sheet. Out of 1.2bil inventory, 808.2mil is vessel work in progress. Coastal doesn't seem slow down but the market judged it wrongly just bcos it's in O&G sector. When these works in progress are converted into revenue we can expect good QR. Same to Barakah. It's TTM capex is 17.9mil compare to 4.08mil the previous 12momths. Something brewing?

Hi, Connie. Sorry for the false statement of Barakah's high ROE is due to it's debt. It's ROIC is 29%. A very efficient company. At 90sen it's earning yield,EY = 19.5% (most value investors consider EY = 12% is good buy). Will collect some if it dips on Monday.

Connie. ROA (return on asset) = Profit/ Net asset. ROIC (return on invested capital is more precise but complicated bcoz determining invested capital isn't straight forward. Some assets aren't directly related to core business like investment in associate, financial asset, land held for development ect. are excluded. Can google ROIC to learn the details.

Connie. O&G seems to pull back today. No show:(( But as duit said USA is devalueing dollar to boost oil price & hence at current oversold price i think is quite safe to keep some. By the way why u like Barakah? Barakah seems to be the most efficient O&G judging from it high ROE. But the high ROE is due to hugh borrowings (liability). Equity = Asset - Liability & hence low equity. ROE = Profit/ equity. When denominator is low then ROE is high. Try some other metrics like ROA or ROIC then u can see clearer picture of company's efficiency. Just my 2sen.
