My experience. Most CC charge about 2+% overall (currency rate + charges + whatever). Some card gives 1% rebate for overseas spending so you ended up with 1+%
I have not come across CC that gives 2%. I Would like to know which one does.
AFAIK, for the time being, I don't know of any card better then BP for foreign currency spending. Sometimes slightly more and sometimes slightly less than xe.com so I consider that to be practically the same as xe.com

The sell side is waning and with support from efp and yeohs so should be a good entry point again. Suggest to hold till major trend reversal which is yet to happen but it has bottomed out.

Did you guys see that? About a whooping 88 million shares transacted at 0.95, the borrower has to buyback to return it :)

Yesterday MISC was worst performer under index while YTL was second worst. Now look at how MISC going through a super rebound. Amazing... let's hope YTL going for the same

Borrowers buying back shares to be returned to lender :)

I think the short selling is fading and it may be heading for a stronger rebound. Congrats!

Precisely. Good share. Also note that the borrower doesn't necessarily have to use all borrowed shares to do it. As long can cover the cost of borrowing and made a decent profits by shorting it should be nice. It was a sentiment play.

Obviously entity who could borrow such huge amount is none other than institutional trader so I don't think it's IDSS in this case

For a large cap company like ytl, the borrower has to borrow big amount of shares to do it. If u noticed that the transfer of 154 million shares was dated 24-May just 2-3 days before Tun M announced the confirmation of cancelling the HSR project. The borrower must have known it in advance and quickly borrowed to be ready for a shorting while the borrower still have time to acquire more shares in the open market before start the shorting with the additional borrowed shares.

It's legal for some time already. Look here https://www.thestar.com.my/business/business-news/2018/04/16/bursa-malaysia-implements-intraday-short-selling/

The lender receives fees, the borrower earns shorting it, and the lender can even buy at low when the borrower pushed it down. So if the lender knows what the borrower intend to short it then naturally the lender would be ready to buy at low. Lender will be bigger winner. In the case if borrower couldn't buyback enough shares to be returned to lender then easily the share price is being pushed back up steeply as a sharp rebound. Logical?
2018-05-31 10:56 | Report Abuse
The one who wants to do short-selling will have to borrow shares from someone who have it in large numbers and later will have to buyback after pushed down to return them to the lender. Yesterday transacted volume was about 92 millions but of course I can just guess and estimate roughly only. So if short-selling is about done then we can expect a rebound on the way. Sorry if I said anything wrong and please correct me if any. Just exchange views.

newbie8080, the yeohs been buying daily since 21-May tens of million shares to date. I think they lend out their 154 million shares on 24-May for short-selling purpose right? I think this is the price level that they want to start increase their stakes.
2018-05-31 10:34 | Report Abuse
The yeohs keep buying daily. To them these price range must be too attractive

Borrowings too high with earnings capped and unsustainable in the long run. Pare down debts is much better to be in-line since capex may be capped as well similar to petronas capex

enid888, their Share price is lowest in 7 years. Want to bet if it rebounds from here? Just checked bursa website and so fast they announced today's acquisitions by the Yeoh family again before market even close. They acquired 12 million shares today. I think it breached the 50% holdings of the company.

Deeply undervalued. Luckily bought enough before it rebounds. I wonder why still have some people talk nuts about ytl when best opportunity to accumulate low price is right now.

Scary part is desmond and his wife may be charged too? Those uncertainties will affect malton. Good luck to those still holding. Who knows how much corrupt monies are used to buy condo units from malton. Don't forget how close tengku adnan is with malton group too!

I never think Tun M will scrap off all rail projects with China but to renegotiate revising the project value or other terms. In latest, Tun M has said “But we will respect all agreements.”
