MRCB is now trading at its lowest level in 20 years. Not much room for further drops.

The company would inform the quantum of dividend to be paid when it announces its final quarter results towards the end of next month. Official announcement will come in early March and dividend payment should be made by mid April. My guess is the amount of dividend would not be less than 30 sen a share.

RM8.83 now, another 2% to RM9. Hope this could be achieved by next Friday.

2022 year end rally didn't materialize. Hopefully there is one before Chinese New Year which would propel Maybank's share price beyond RM9.

Naysayer very quick to jump up from sleep to condemn MRCB and other people again. Poor guy must have bought MRCB several years ago at over RM1 a share and now seizing every opportunity to run down MRCB and those who write positively about MRCB.

Maybank was trading at around RM8.30 this time last year. Its share price has appreciated 40 sen over the past year. Total dividend paid last year was 58 sen a share. There is thus a total capital gain of 98 sen or 12% return.

Despite some naysayers constantly popping up to cast doubts on MRCB, with the EPF as its largest shareholder, this company still has a bright future.

Looks like investors are shying away from the stock market. Maybe people are worried about an impending recession.

Wow! A lot of investors are buying Maybank shares in the tens of thousands. Soon ASB would lose its control over Maybank.

Another less than 3% rise to RM9. Even at RM9 a share, it is still cheap. Hurrah to all Maybank investors.

Including dividends, CIMB's share price has more than doubled from its 2020 lows when it briefly dipped below RM3 in late October.

CIMB Bank has performed much better over the past 25 months. It has gone up by 100% from around RM3 if dividends are included. RHB Bank has gone up by less than 50%. A lot of room to catch up.

Jiankun closed at 26 sen on Friday. The maximum price (limit up price) it could reach on Monday is 56 sen. Should go up by at least 30 to 40% on Monday but anything above that, I am not that confident.

Don't know why RHB Bank's share price comes down even after reporting improved results. Opportunity to accumulate.

Companies reporting much improved earnings will see their share price register handsome gains but not this company. Don't dream also that the directors will reward shareholders.

I think the Dec 19 confidence vote would turn out to be a non issue. The motion would be easily defeated. Investors aren't worried about the vote. It is unimaginable that any party would vote against the PH led government that it is a party of. Happenings in other countries are unlikely to have any bearings on us.

Yea, good news for Malaysia as the Ringgit has been rising over the past several weeks against the US dollar and other currencies but bad news for Keck Seng as its foreign exchange gain so far this year has been drastically reduced.

Kalau ambil profit sekarang, hanya dapat 1.5% nett, tak padan. Bila ada 3% nett, sudah boleh consider. Mungkin boleh naik sampai RM9 sebelum hari mengundi.

Picked up just under 2,000 Maybank shares at RM8.49 about 2 months ago. Not too concerned about paying a few sen extra for such kind of counter.

Long term investors should start to accumulate Maybank again.

A ROE of 11 to 12% should be good enough. What is more important is Maybank must be able to pay 55 to 60 sen a share in dividends every year.

Maybank's average ROE over the past 5 years was 9.9% and investors were rewarded dividends of between 50 to 60 sen a share. Just don't think dividend payout would be lowered.

MRCB is considered an UMNO linked company but it hasn't been doing well over the past couple of months. It may suggest that UMNO might not fare well in the coming GE. haha

@vincent2903, did you sell your Maybank shares before the ex-dividend date? If you had sold your Maybank shares on or after 19th Sept, the ex-dividend date, you should get your dividend unless your had provided a wrong bank account number to your broker. ????

TTV, the political situation in the country can't be more unstable post GE15. Even the Palace had issued a statement saying that the Agong had consented to the dissolution of Parliament in order for a new and stable government to be elected.

Bank stocks are doing well today, probably heralding the return of political stability after the general election.

Considering that Norway's sovereign wealth fund has incurred a loss of US$174 billion or a return of -14.4% in the first half of 2022, don't expect the EPF to pay its members well this year. Anything above 5% is a bonus. At RM8.55 a share, Maybank still offers a dividend yield of 6.8%.

@Heroking, when the Dow briefly dipped below 20,000 points sometime in March 2020, Maybank didn't drop below RM7. No investment bank has ever forecast that the Dow would dip below 20,000 points again even if a recession were to hit. You have repeatedly claimed that Maybank would drop to RM5.80, if you are so confident of your claim, you should use all your resources to short Maybank. This would be the most correct thing to do.

RHB Bank is the best performing bank counter today, dropping only 1 sen compare to Maybank's 18 sen.

Sharps falls on Wall Street coupled with political uncertainty in the country are driving the market sharply lower today and Maybank is not spared. Those with deep pockets can continue to invest in Maybank if they are confident enough but those with fewer bullets should wait.

I would consider RHB Bank's dividend yield as excellent instead of just decent. Assuming RHB pays 40 sen a share dividend this financial year, at RM5.42 a share, its dividend yield is 400/5520 or 7.25%. I don't think there are more than 5 companies listed on Bursa with such high dividend yields, including rock solid counter Maybank.
