I am glad that VT making various charitable pledges, however as a minority shareholder, I would like to urge VT to really growing the value of his companies. He showed appreciation to different parties who have helping him all along to become successful businessman. I wish also he can remember that the shareholders, be small or big, are the ones who buy in and support his ideas.

While I can understand that it should be the baseline for general offer, I am not very keen on the 0.38/0.30 conversion, as after the conversion, there will be a sharp price drop in Bjcorp and therefore no one will be benefiting except the major shareholder will can go for bargain hunting. What Bjcorp needs to do is to win back the confidence of the market. Killing the minority will gain very little and lose out all the market confidence in short and long term.

By right, BJLand should move higher than BJCorp, as BJLand contributes about 70% of the BJCorp's revenue, controls 40% of BJToto and more than 90% of the physical assets. Additionally the floating share is far less than BJCorp. Any opinion?

Hope the CEO would buy 70 million shares too from BJLand. Normally mother share will rise first and the record shows that BJLand always had a higher market value than the mother company until it was being pressed heavily for the past three years. Also, hope the compensation received from the china mall will turn into proper dividend for the shareholders

Sudden rise is welcoming. Aligning mindset with the minority shareholders is a good move. However, the company needs to be fundamentally correct. Please show minimum 10% annual earning for five years without a loss and dividend every year, the price will go beyond RM2 and stay there. Also, please privatize BJLand within these six months, as the public spread issue is made into a perpetual demonstration how loyal minority shareholders are being bullied.

The whole market would see how BJLand is being properly privatized before committing their monies in BJ counters. So many negative news and reputations being made into these companies. The management has to do something extraordinary.

I would agree with Kelvin, as 40% of Bjtoto itself is already RM0.30 per Bjland share. Minority shareholders render their faith to the company and VT despite constantly being ridiculed by others.

He has to bring in more new bloods and performing major bypasses in the organization. If he can stay for two years, revamp and steer the companies to the right direction will add tremendous credentials. If he stays less than two years, I will not blame him.

New CEO. Hope he can do the right thing to bring value to shareholders (not just to major shareholder) and restore Berjaya Group to a respectable position. More urgently, hope that he can help to privatize BJLand with good exit offer to minority shareholders, as promised by VT previously in a press conference.

VT drops out of Top 40 richest, even owning so many businesses. Jack of all trades, master of none. VT really fits the description.

I am a bit confused on the calculation. According to news, BJLand has invested 2.1 Trillion Won (about RM7Bil) in the Jeju project, now the compensation is only USD$350mil (about 1.3Bil). Previously as soon as the project failed, JDC has paid some amounts to BJLand to acquire back the land titles (not sure how much). Still, I don't think the math adds up. Maybe someone can give more details.

Thank you, Jeffery Ting to give the timely update. Regardless the verdict, it is Bursa regulation for formal announcement to be made by BJLAND BOD, as the result would heavily implicate the financial status of the company (more than 20% of NTA). it seems that different treatment is being given to BJ companies, by Bursa. It is a disgrace.

Hope that ISDS arbitration would have a favorable result. In the 2019 financial report, RM584mil is placed as receivable (pg 97). Independent auditor report has raised concern whether the money can be recovered. According to the news (https://www.thesundaily.my/business/bcorp-we-didn-t-lose-us-200m-in-jeju-project-DJ685014), BJCorp seeks for USD$350mil in compensation, against the lost of 4.1 Trillion Won (about RM14Bil). If losing the case in ISDS, the next (and could be the last) step would be filing at ICSID. BJland should have released the verdict on 6 Feb 2020, but there is no any news being released. Failing to do so is already violating the Bursa policy. Similarly, no news available on Internet.

Based on old Star news in Jun 2018
"Separately, BLand said Vinhomes and its affiliates are also being considered as potential purchasers of Berjaya Vietnam International University Town One Member Ltd Liability Co (BVIUT).
The company said Vinhomes had, in December, injected a cash sum of 11,904 billion dong (RM2.08mil) as fresh capital contribution into BVIUT in order to meet certain similar conditions imposed by the Vietnamese authorities, which require BVIUT to increase its charter capital to RM210mil.
“Accordingly, BLeisure Cayman’s initial stake in BVIUT has also been diluted from 100% to 0.8%. It is the intention of BLeisure Cayman to dispose its 0.8% stake in BVUIT in the near future.”

It have sold off BVFC for RM154 mil. Does BJLAND still own BVIUT? A bit confused here.

Since almost all here run out bullets to top up, everyone should help to promote the counter in other forums or news portals. This could pull in new players (perhaps big sharks), making privatization swings to more reasonable terms.

I hope VT would provide a beautiful exit plan for minority shareholders in BjLand. Fund managers and syndicates are monitoring closely on the current movement of BjLand. This would revitalize the interest from public in VT companies. Failing to reward minority shareholders handsomely this round would adversely affect his future plan for IPOs, local or elsewhere. Bear in mind that among minority shareholders are current employees, ex-employees of Berjaya empire, and supporters who render faith in VT but sadly being caught up. All this while, VT has played cunning. My word to VT: focus to much on leaves and twigs of trees would lose out on the entire forest.

Based on the evaluation by icon8888 in 2016, the intrinsic value of Bjland should be around 92 sen (https://klse.i3investor.com/blogs/icon8888/99941.jsp). I reckon the value should be much higher as the land evaluation is based on net book value but not gross development value. The value of land also has not been reevaluated for many years. 30 sen is unfair and unreasonable. Also, hope that VT would exercise the delisting nicely by offering a good exit point to general minority. Otherwise, no one would be interested in any of his future IPOs when name is bad on internet. There is no legacy but shame with tainted name and non-performing companies, even just to be the crony of Dr. M.
Also, It is necessary to keep up the pressure by sending the relevant complaints to various authorities, including newspaper. It is nothing to do with naivety. There are the legal channels and valid complaints that should be treated seriously. When increasing number of complaints received, these authorities have to escalate the matter. In comparison, i feel it is not right to throw rotten eggs to BOD or held a demonstration during AGM to have our voice heard, as they are not proper channels of complaints, regardless whether they are effective or not.

Even with the money coming in from overseas project, the obvious move by VT is yet another buying sprees. If it is true, this shows that he doesn't care two hoots about minority shareholders. I believe the companies may have many dark secrets. The believe is built based on the premise that a company consistently losing money while the tops enjoying the high flyer lives. Amongst the minority shareholders, there could be the company current or ex-employees that fall into the trap. I would urge them to find legal channels to share the information to the public. Wrong doers should be condemned and punished within the country jurisdiction which includes whistleblower protection act. Minority shareholders should stay united. If we constantly and by mass report any practice discrepancy of BJ to SC, I believe actions would be eventually taken.

What minority shareholders can do to obtain more information about Vietlott? The board classified the 18 years contract as confidential and used it as excuse to brush off any related questions. The contract could be as idiotic as renting equipment, ticket printing and doing all the hard labor jobs in establishing counters, in exchange for meager commission. Worst still, what if the money is not allowed to bring out of Vietnam. In the coming AGM, minority shareholders should be united to demand answers to these long pending questions.

VT should spend more time to manage his business and build capability than playing small tricks to fool people. Without capability, what kind of contract VT can have? He got a contract to build the university city in Vietnam is also ending up a failure. Now not even know what is the status of the project. Vietlott seems to be a cashcow but where is the cash after three years? It is pointless to have so many photo-shots over the dinner table with Mr. M. IWCITY's LKH just bought over bakery shop "The Loaf", and get back his Bandar Malaysia. So many businesses and so many children, but failure upon failure. Ironically, the company name is Berjaya. Really a slap in the face (also our face who has rendered trust to him).

Today Bjland announcement. The acquisition of Iceland company sounds fishy. RM51 million for 1.19 acres of land leased for 18 years. The deal needs more justification.

I dont think it is justifiable to compare VT with topglove and AA bosses. VT is of much lower class, with bleak future ahead. Seeing many here cursing VT, i pity those holding Bj share while working in the company. A good business normally would have employees subscribing its shares and growing wealth with the company. Robin and the rest of second generation are extremely weak personnel, hopefully not the Karma for VT.

VT called for special press conference when the market is almost closing and only be rebuked the next day by the BOD. Just hope that VT and BOD not to play little tricks to take advantage on minority shareholder. Corporate investors already ran away by miles. VT and BOD should know who's hand has been manipulating BJ stock prices all these years. Please don't blame the market to undervaluing BJ stocks.

My two cents. Berjaya's strength is in niched retailing and pioneering businesses. Berjaya's weakness is inefficient management, sophisticated (potentially dubious) accounting practices and obvious ignorance of shareholder benefits. In the fast-changing era, would Vincent Tan be able to find new grounds to exercise his touch of Midas and also win back the support from (new or existing) shareholders? I still feel that canceling the contract with Chemist Warehouse two years ago is a big loss.

We are all suffering minority shareholders, mostly long term. It is everyone's best interest (including Berjaya corp) to see the Berjaya land successfully privatized and a departure with a good handshake. We may cross the path with VT again as long as VT still have business interest in Malaysia.
