“KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 19): Genting Malaysia Bhd's (GENM) subsidiary GENM Capital Bhd will redeem its RM1.4 billion medium term notes (MTN) next Friday (Jan 28) ahead of the MTN scheme's maturity date of July 11, 2023, according to facility agent Maybank Investment Bank Bhd.”

“GENM Capital also, on May 11 last year, made an early redemption of RM1.25 billion of the RM2.60 billion in nominal value of MTNs issued on March 31, 2017.”

As long as Genting businesses can remain open for the rest of this year, audited accounts promptly submitted, no ESG issues & no wars…. GenB is a large conglomerate with many listed companies under its belt. Recovery mah…. just let this omicron be the start of endemic phase

Based on my previous work experience in other countries Singapore, UK, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand and HK….I never heard of listed companies’ CEOs can still be allowed to continue working as BAU, not suspended pending court trials for alleged corporate criminal cases.

I also never heard of cases where CEOs still can continue to hold his/her jobs when cannot even produce audited accounts by deadlines or extended deadlines (most basic requirement for listed companies la)

Hi @JKPTR, from my work experience, ‘meteoric’ rise in both revenue and profits despite industry outlook…. are red flags to me…even before auditors start checking…

If I work as a CEO is a public listed company & got charged in court, I would be suspended immediately & no longer allowed to represent the company until the judge made a decision.

If I kena charged in court for alleged ‘false statement’, I would resign from my company if I still care about my company’s reputation…until the court acquitted me

I would be malu enough to let other people represent my company at dubai expo la…

Repeat….If a decent listed company loses alot of business or made losses due to delayed payments or due to bad debtors… all bcos of current pandemic… then maybe got other richer investors wanna save la…

In this case, when the CEO, senior management & company itself all charged in courts for breaches in CMSA Act 2007….. I mean how to ‘save’ Serba when Criminal charges already started?

Criminal charges way more SERIOUS than corporate lawsuits!
