Yea still got sochai said the PE is 90++ very expensive due to the Q4 2016 -5.48 EPS, but didn't look at the report of their one shot write off of impairment and unrealised loss. Those are also artificially drags down their earning and force the PE to sky high.
Unless they have impairment and unrealized loss to write off every quarter....

Yes next quarter earning from land sales will force the PE drops from 90++ to single digit. like padawan said, the land is valued at around 39m in their annual report, so at least a 100m gain, roughly into a 20 cents EPS. With price 1.5, a 25 cents EPS will change the PE to 7.5, although the land sales is one off, but at least will artificially drop the PE to a very low level.

supermx boss said the contact lens business will contribute 15% - 20% extra profit to the bottom line next year from recent news. If the PE wont change and stay the same at 18.6 currently, the price will add another 30-40 cents.
Seem like this counter doesn't have much optimistic coverage from our investment institution, other top 3 counters PE all 23++ but Supermx target price from them are still very low.
I think stanley thai self proclaim as pakatan supporter in the last election is still one of the main issue of this lacklustre performance since most government related institution wont buy it

Compared to the other 3 big glove counters, supermax glove production output seem to be stagnated, factory 11 only contributed 2b of gloves and have to wait until Glove City commisioned in 2020 to further increase their outputs. Now the start up and promotion cost of contact lenses are eating their margin i think

The deal from proton and bandar malaysia, all the malaysians are the losers except those cronies making the deal behind the scene are laughing all the way to their bank.
Now China try to act like a good big brother in the world stage with its one belt one road policy, the CPECG is a state owned company, so it's almost a government to government project, as long as they don't piss each other off, and since Vietnam need all the monies they can get to invest in their country and China need a good all in their neighbour country, this kind of project will not be cancelled out of nothing (except may be bandar malaysia case).
JAKS can be considered to hit a jackpot when they find the right partner this time, but hopefully they can deliver their part of project, not like their property project such as pacific star which is delayed for so long and the buyers are demanding for LAD claims.
