So many ppl here just have no clue what they're buying into and no sense to read announcements issued by the company. Sigh.

I suspect (though I hope not because I'm a shareholder) that current price will come down after listing of rights and bonus shares because (1) there will be 3x more outstanding shares, (2) I've seen this happened before in the case of BORNOIL where price went up but came down significantly after listing of those shares.

You're half correct that cost of 30000 shares is RM0.033/share or RM1000. The other part is your existing shareholding. If your existing holding is 10000 shares bought at RM0.215, then your existing cost is RM2150. Total RM1,000 (rights) + RM2,150 (existing) = RM3,150/40,000 shares = RM0.07875/share

Hi 123invest, if you have 10,000 you will be offered 20,000 rights shares at $0.05 per share and you will be given 10,000 bonus shares. All you need to do is subscribe your rights entitlement and invest $1,000 (20,000 X $0.05) and you will end up having 40,000 shares [10,000 (existing) + 20,000 (rights issue) + 10,000 (bonus shares)]. It will be a waste if you don't take up the rights (comes with 10,000 bonus shares FOC) as your additional investment of $1,000 = 30,000 shares. Hence, the cost of the 30,000 shares is $0.033. Based on today's closing price of $0.09 you have a paper gain of $0.056 per share.

Those with shares on both KLSE and HKEX can benefit immediately like the sub-shareholders. For the rest of us, better watch MediaC HK and MOST IPO closely for the next few days.
2018-03-26 15:31 | Report Abuse
The reason for the price differential between MediaC MY and HK now is due to the uncertainty of post-MOST listing. If prices of MediaC HK and MOST post-listing are sustainable then MediaC MY will catch up.
2018-03-25 19:54 | Report Abuse
Since substantial shareholders traded for arbitrage, tmr MediaC MY will probably go up.

To those who intent to buy CW, be very cautious about it.
Some IBs are quite shrewd in their market making process. When mother share price is going up with momentum then they will load up their CW buy and sell queues, i.e. enough quantities for trading. However, if mother share price is experiencing a selldown, they won't replenish the queues the same way they do when mother share price is going up. In this event, you won't be able to sell without selling even lower. During this situation, they will also allow the spread of buy and sell queue to be wider, eg. instead of 0.15 / 0.155 (buy / sell), it could be 0.145 / 0.155. This is to force you to sell cheaper.
So beware. I've learned the hard way and paid a lot of "tuition fees". Fortunately, I've come out victorious with trading CWs not only with AA but other stock as well.
2018-01-22 11:03 | Report Abuse
@supersaiyan, the adjustment for special dividend is stated in the base prospectus and not term sheet. Exercise price adjustment is quite a standard practice across the CW industry. However, I'm more wary of AA declaring it as special or normal dividend. Back in Aug, AA declared a normal dividend which is supposedly for AACE. Hence no adjustment to CW exercise price.
2018-01-20 16:41 | Report Abuse
I would say margin call is definitely one of the reasons.

Supersaiyan, even if it doesn't go up to that level, the constant dividend will still be a consolation. :)
2018-01-05 07:05 | Report Abuse
Supersaiyan, IB will only adjust the exercise price provided the dividend is declared explicitly as a special dividend. This is stated in all IB's CW prospectus. The issue is, AA declared the last dividend (should be for AACOE sale) as a normal one, hence the price isn't adjust. Because of this, there are now doubts whether AA will declare AAC sales proceeds as special dividend or not.
2018-01-04 17:28 | Report Abuse
And, do you notice that we're down to only 2 AA CWs? No IBs dare to issue new ones, at least not before AAC sale finalization. They're probably expecting AAC sale soon and wanna avoid issuing any CW before that. Otherwise, the run-up in AA share price will give them problems to cover their risk.
2018-01-04 17:24 | Report Abuse
Supersaiyan, I believe when IB issues CW they would mitigate the risk of big payout upon CW maturity by buying mother share. That would be the logical thing to do because as mother share price goes up, IB will be able to sell more CW and at the same time get the protection of mother share price appreciation.
2018-01-04 12:25 | Report Abuse
Supersaiyan, or maybe most CW hv expired. So no incentive for IB to dump price.

It's interesting to see how HY-CH premium was just 2.38% last week and now it is at where it should be, i.e. around 10%, for a CW with still a long tenure to go.

For those interested in HY CW, CH is currently the most worth buying. I think today CIMB IB didn't do the proper market making causing it to lag mother share. It has the longest expiry on 29/6/2018 with very low premium at 2.37% at today's closing.

wiki123, let's be conservative and assume 0% premium...
15 - 8 (exer price) = 7 / 12 (exer ratio) = 58 sen
If assuming 5% premium (still low for such a long tenure CW)...
15.75 - 8 = 7.75 / 12 = 64.5 sen

to me its totally unjustified.....HY deserves to be priced at Petronm level if refining margins are expected to be at 5 USD/brl long term.
Even then, that is assuming Simple Refiner is contributing indefinitely in PetronM together with its Retail segment unaffected by the IMO 2020 rules.
If one considers the sustainability of current refining margin, (not even considering the imminent closure of simple refiners and the huge capex for a huge upgrade) its not that difficult to see.
2017-12-09 13:25 | Report Abuse
Some explanation from the article does explain why HY's valuation is so low (though still unjustified) compared to Petron's.

The limit up for stock/CW under RM1 is 30 sen but since CW tracks mother share price, that in itself should put a cap to it. Let's say HRC limits up on Monday, i.e. hitting 13.66, the theoretical price of CD should be 0.92. If limit-up applies to CW, then it will be capped at 0.83.
I sure hope HY limits up because I'm holding CD. :-D
