Compare to previously when oil up, this counter doesn't move much because the covid19 virus was still surging in the europe countries even the oil price up.

But this time, the sentiment is getting better on oil demand. European countries believe it is on its way to recovery after their mass vaccination shows covid19 cases start to drop.

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 10): UMW Holdings Bhd’s automotive segment is on track to meet its full-year sales target supported by strong sales in November 2020 by both subsidiary UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) and associate company Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua).

In a statement today, the group said the automotive segment had steadily recovered from the adverse impact of the Covid-19 containment measures earlier this year with demand boosted by the sales tax exemption incentive announced by the government, effective from June 15 to Dec 31, 2020.

It said UMWT was poised to exceed its revised sales target of 53,000 units for the year after selling 6,267 units in November 2020, which brought total sales to 50,074 units for the first 11 months of this year.

UMW said Perodua also continued to advance strongly, achieving close to 93% of its year-end target of 210,000 units as it recorded sales of 23,119 units in November, including a record-breaking single-day sale of 5,027 units on the last day of the month.

Moving forward, it said Perodua would prioritise on meeting the outstanding orders by year-end to allow as many customers to enjoy sales tax-exempt prices while further bolstering the Malaysian automotive ecosystem with over 90% of its components locally sourced.

President and group chief executive officer Datuk Ahmad Fuaad Kenali said the group continued to sustain strong sales momentum thanked to the sales tax exemption implemented by the government to spur the local automotive industry following disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“With the impressive sales achieved by both UMWT and Perodua year-to-date, we are confident that the momentum will continue in December to achieve our revised sales targets for the year,” he added.

Last year, the UMW group recorded a combined market share of 51.4% with 310,350 units sold by the automotive segment, according to the company's annual report.

To be honest, U.S cases has been rising to all time high with more than 150k cases daily. I am not sure how is this going to cool down in just 6 months. With vaccine, u need to take at least 2 shots with 7 days or 14days interval in between. U.S has about 4millions active cases and counting. There are millions of people need to take the vaccine with that interval, there will still be transmission ongoing while some people get vaccinated and some are still in waiting list.

Glove demand will be high for at least a year. Vaccine has not been approved yet now. Not counting into the complication or any uncertain medical condition for certain people, mutation of the virus when the vaccine is available.

The ASP will continue to stay high but might not keep increasing. So imagine if every quarter tg make over 1.5b PAT for at least the coming 4 quarter.

This is not a trade or a swing counter anymore, this will become a dividend counter. As long as the dividend payout is increasing every quarter or at least maintain at a high percentage. It will attract big institution to invest and the profit from dividend payout will be the key.

hello fellow kangerian, its the month of November and many vaccine candidates that are in Phase 3 is due to announce their testing result and report. Sinopharm looks like going to have some good news soon. Dont wait until that time just panic buy.

If you invest in small glove company or new glove company then excess capacity may affect these company. But it is not likely affect the big company like topglove or harta. Big company have the advantage to provide a competitive prices with large quantity and mass production. We are not even talking about quality and also the long term customer relationship that they already have in the industry for more than 10 years. Harta even announced their order book fully booked until end of 2021.

Glove is unlikely to be affected by the political uncertainty and the U.S election or even the vaccine. Gloves rally has started since April until now. We all are well aware that regardless of those news, their profit is increasing every quarters and there is no sign of slowing down as the covid19 is still increasing around the globe.

We have experience turbulences from august to september and i think we all learned that, regardless of any news, people who panic sold their shares will then realise they make a wrong decision because the glove price will recover and go higher than the price they sold. We all learn from mistake. Those who are holding gloves are much more smarter than before.

Glove is currently in the bullish trend. it isn't as bullish as the July wave because the July wave was supported by many retailers and this time round many retailer already took profit and left the counter due to the end of the moratorium.

The current wave is a slow and steady uptrend which is good for a swing trade or mid term investor. It is unlike to see a very steep drop or a very steep uptrend.

Harta order book full until end of 2021. Vaccine still uncertain. Cases around the globe is increasing. Price is going up slow and steady. QR coming soon.
