Scalpers are going to make good profits with large volumes.

@lim7722 up to you, but conditions are never perfect. In Bursa good sustainable yield at a good price is hard to find. In the world maybe more but then exchange rates will make them less predictable.

Quite ok if you are in for capital gains.

@lim7722 when are you going to buy then? Let's say you can tell the future and you know it will be 7.50 in three years and then go back to around 9.30 like it's always done. So you wait three years and then you buy at 7.50 and sure enough it goes up to 9.30. You laugh at the poor fool who was buying all the way down to Rm7.50, and thank the Gods for your ability to see the future. Didn't he lose so much money in three years?
If you really sit down and think about it, who made more money, the one who couldn't tell the future and so bought all the way down, or the guy with the gift of future sight who bought at the bottom? :)
Think about it, really think about it. Who made more money?

@lim7722 what does the market have to do with any knives? If anything the market represents money.. if you don't want to catch falling money I do lol :)

@zKingDB never know.. it's gone from Rm10.70 to Rm7.50 before, and that was not even a global recession. During 2008 it went from Rm9.34 to Rm3.50 :)

Yes am in at 8 too. Should be interesting. My other signal is the "I'm so glad I sold at X" post. Then more at "WTF?!!!" and still more at "cut loss at X".

Well they can't affect the price by talking about it. If it gets there so much the better, yield is going to be good at 5.

@banker33 Confucius is wrong (sorry).. I wish he was right but he is unfortunately not. Many people have died from treading the course of virtue. Maybe not in his time, but times have changed I guess.

Is the yield under 5% now? Wonder if they are going to benefit from the OPR cut.

@jclass ask your investment bank about that, if you have a nominee account you are basically paying them to handle all your stuff, so you should maybe ask them.

Also it looks like they have signed up a lot of merchants - next time you use your credit or debit card, see if the terminal belongs to Maybank. I know Aeon uses Maybank, BIG does as well.

@leslieroycarter they effectively own Tuaspring now.. banks are not so dumb to loan without adequate collateral :)
The OPR cut, if it happens, will make loans more attractive and increase the range of clients that they can select from.

@Everybodyhuat it's all there in the announcement. If the broker tells you otherwise you should get a new broker :) I can intro mine to you if you want :)
What he said makes no sense because as you said, if they did that who would opt for DRP lol :)

You either take 0.32 cash, or 0.15 cash and 0.17 shares at Rm8.
So if you have 1000 shares, you can choose either Rm320 cash, or Rm150 cash and (0.17*1000)/8 = 21.25 shares.

If you're a Maybank shareholder the AGM docs will have instructions on how to elect to receive DRP.

This actually just reminded me of some other companies.. Samsung was about KRW32000 just before the Note 7 battery explosion issue. Now it is KRW44750. IGBREIT was Rm1.53 during the rat issue. Now it is Rm1.85.

@calvintaneng if it gets sold down to Rm7, DY will be 7.14%. A bit of Googling turned up this : http://www.sharetisfy.com/2017/08/top-10-oversold-stocks-to-buy-now-while.html

@RainT You think? the price dropped from Rm7 to Rm1.30 in 1998. Dropped from Rm9.30 to 3.50 in 2008. last year was 2018, this drop was expected. Global economy tanks about one every ten years. On the plus side, the cost of living is going to drop for a while.
Imagine Maybank at Rm1.50, DY would be almost 40% a year :)

So if you've basically been buying those four companies.. and they are your "only stocks" as you say, and you don't buy anything else.. how do you account for the other three sausages? not to mention the fact that there's already a discrepancy between what you said and what that screenshot shows.
I don't know what the other three "sausages" are.. but Vivocom is a stock, one that you say you bought a long time ago. On Jan 4 this year you said :
"Today I own around 2m shares in QL, after the share split I own around the same amount in TOPGLOVE. I also have a 500K share position in Public Bank, and have now built up recently a 600K share position in YINSON. Those are my only stocks."
And now we learn that you own Vivocom, and Stone, and you bought them before Jan 4. Can we say now that your screenshot, and your statements, don't agree with each other?

Option 3 - Government takes ten years to reimburse them. Unfortunately they run out of steam before then and have to declare bankruptcy. What makes you think they won't go under BEFORE the government reimburses them?
I mean think about it, the government can save a lot of money if they go under before they get reimbursed... :)

A lot of things are weighing them down - the Scomi issue, the downgrade, the reports that the banking app is insecure (I don't believe this to be true btw, it looks like they were playing an online game, and they had their debit card details in play store, and the game debited the account for some reason - some games trap you like that.)
Also some believed that the bank had "status" with the previous government because of family ties, and that might have been priced in.

@armadasaxon tough.. maybe one day we can pay 7000/10 lots instead of the almost 9000 we have to pay today. That's a savings of almost Rm2000/10 lots.
