Seadrill completes sale of 230m SapuraKencana shares

Norway's Seadrill Ltd has completed the sale of 230 million shares of SapuraKencana Petroleum at RM4.30 a share.

Stock market data on Thursday showed the shares were transacted in an off-market deal for a total of RM98.90mil.

However, there were no details of the purchasers of the shares.

StarBiz reported Seadrill would raise about US$300mil in proceeds.

The total economic gain realised from this sale is approximately US$165mil.

After the completion of the transaction, Seadrill would continue to own about 490 million shares or 8% stake in SapuraKencana.
