complexity vs simplicity.

Professors and intellectuals are complex, they know a lot, the risks as well as the good stuffs. They don't make much money.

Mostly, simplicity ( plus luck, of course, you always need luck ) you can make a lot ( and lose a lot of money. )

My opinion of OTB approach to the stock market is like Baby with New toys ....an OTB "Bible" to conquer the world. My foot.

The simplicity of the approach is very attractive and very tempting until you learn what is the real meaning of stock market and PE holding PE 5 stock to PE 2 stock in Hengyuan after convincing themselves that the E in PE is about $ 4.....lol. Many still do.

I bought Hengyuan at 5.95, I sold 50% at 14.68 and balance 50% at 17.48.

When market corrects
I bought back 10% of my previous holding at 16.64
Another 10% at 12.52
Another 10% at 10.92 yesterday
Another 10% at 8.58 today.

I hold only 40% of my previous holding
I used part of my profit to buy Hengyuan only
Even Hengyuan at zero cent, I still make a lot of money on Hengyuan.

Nothing wrong with trading with own money, whatever he does.

But armed with a "bible", complete disregard for risk, the investment process is rather one dimensional....there are reasons why his recommendations and recommended portfolio is always of high volatility.

The investment process, arguments , valuation methodology are flawed and not suitable for widows with lower risk appetite.

Been promoting this stock for a while.....never once identifying the potential risks in investing in this stock...that to my knowledge, not 1 IB dares to cover. But why no IB dares to cover this stock? This, none of you will know.......

I think trading on one's own account is the best job in the world, with no one to report to.

But to be Adviser in an unregulated environment, to have to answer to customers, that is some thing smart guys don't do.

CFAs are trained to customise portfolios according to customer risk profiles. They don't just take a bible and say final decision is yours without explaining the relationship between risk and rewards,

Final decision is yours is assuming two professionals of equal standing discussing their findings.....

I guess if the Adviser focuses on shares suitable for widows....no one will throw bricks at the Adviser every time the market is down.

it comes with the territory, Mr Adviser , due to your approach to the stock market.

some shares with higher volatility than others , and this Adviser has a great talent to be stuck with high volatility shares each time the market comes down.

TA will give you the signal according to your bias

FA does not equal low volatility even if there is some relationship if properly chosen.

if one focus on volatility ( high performance) , volatility is exactly what you will get.
