Hi connie, its weekly charts is also a diagonal with its 5th wave turning around for a downtrend to break the lower channel.

Believe the following are exceptions in EW..

1. In a Leading Diagonal or Ending Diagonal, wave-4 does overlap wave-1
2. Within a wave-4 Triangle, legs a,b,c,d may overlap wave-1 except the final e leg.

However, in any circumstance, wave-4 never retraces the entire length of wave-1.


diagonals are counted a-b-c-d-e
triangles are counted the same
if a triangle forms in an impulse wave then the e wave is the ending of the 4th
as you noted
