cruger, your advise to supermx2, reason 3 alone will keep me away from it.
If your sole customer runaway from you now, you are basically out of business, nothing worst than that.

In 4Q16, A quarter which MAS restore capacity expansion and Malindo start to introduce flight which AAX operating, AAX record a 40% increase in passengers carried.
Can you imagine how well AirAsia will hit?

Why are you worry about whether TF will sell or not based on your wild guess?
Guessation Analysis?

The main reason they expect poorer business is due to Malindo crazy expansion in Subang.
Why is it related to AirAsia?
Don't run away, tell us, when 3 they think can go to 4. So why sell at 2.5 when it can go to 3.5?

You ask why don't he do that(pp at 2.5), but if it's you will you do that?
Have some common sense thinking before talk.

Can't say in that way. When the proposal is announced , 5 days average is just 1.84.
Anyway NTA/share will drop tomorrow.

All flight to US must make a stopover at Japan, Taiwan or maybe also Philippines, unless you have a A350LR with minimum economy class, just like what SIA do. However, it work for SIA because it's a premium airline. AAX is LCC, seat sell is more important

Berry Juice, do you know AAX don't have aircraft capable to fly to LA?
Even AAX has a B787 or A350, it can't fly full capacity to LA, as fuel limit hit before range limit.

Mamatade, sorry to say, AirAsia X currently don't have aircraft capable to do it.
Only B787-9 and A350 capable to fly from KUL/DMK directly. AAX have order of A350, expected to take delivery only in 2019.
Any flight to US using A330cep/neo must stopover somewhere in Japan/Taiwan.

AAX get FAA clearance to operate in any location in US.
FAA is well known for their safety requirements. This is vote of confidence for AirAsia's safety culture.
Now AirAsia can send Angmo back to US.

Berry Juice, I am not sure it's true or fake, just share what I saw on google.
However, just like what you said, AirAsia can't simply change flight schedule and that's why the website declare CAAC is looking to penalise TAA.

"Thai AirAsia will be severely punished by China for illegally changing a schedule. That report the Chinese aviation authorities in a statement.
Thai AirAsia has previously received approval to ten charter flights between Pattaya and Hohhot, Inner Mongolia in January and February. However, the company has reversed the timetable without permission of the authorities (CAAC). "This is a clear violation of the rules and safety is at risk with it," said CAAC.
Thai AirAsia may now no longer fly on the route and is under investigation."

batu88, depreciation policy for AA isn't that simple and for airframe it's 25 years.
Some airlines are able to secure 55% discount from AB, so maximum discount AA can get from Airbus is probably 60%, significant more than 40% for normal lessor.

feisch, there are 2 AirAsia - AirAsia Bhd & AirAsia X Berhad.
The one doing business with RR is AAX, which is for their wide body A330's engine. AAB don't need to do business with RR as their narrow body A320's engine are from CFM.

supersaiyan3, from annual report & QR, AAX has been paying Caterhamjet for charter air services since 2013. (There should be some agreements) However, only annual charges and payable are shown in annual reports, no info about how that USD 3.2 millions transferred.
('000)
................. Charges....... Payable ........ Total
2013......... (5,083) ........ (-).................. (5,083)
2014......... (4,856) ........ (2,621) ......... (7,477)
2015......... (6,386) ........ (2,415) ......... (8,801)
2016......... (2,975) ........ no info .......... (2,975) *until 3Q16
That USD 3.2mil credit transferred in 2013, but charges in 2013 is just RM 5 mil.
If we assume T&C for this service is same with what we saw in 2015, then RM 5 mil was what they paid for everything. Another RM 5 mil credit is missing.

A330 use RR's engine and there is no alternative engine.
For maintenance, airline either seek direct maintenance from supplier (RR in this case) or via engineering departments of other airlines. However, for crucial parts such as turbine blade & etc, you have to go back to RR. Don't forget you have to change to new engines every few years.
2017-01-22 23:09 | Report Abuse
There is nothing wrong to worry about it, as if supplier bankrupt AAX will have big trouble to handle its maintenance.
Anyway, RR is too big to fail, European & UK will save it if it fail.

Key info:
1.EC and GCEO has been using the Aircraft since 2012 for the purpose of
executive efficiency.
2.On 1 April 2015, AAB entered into two (2) agreements related to the use of the Aircraft operated by CJG for the benefit of AAB Executive Chairman, Datuk Kamarudin Bin Meranun (“EC”) and Group Chief Executive Officer, Tan Sri (Dr.) Anthony Francis Fernandes (“GCEO”):
2a)Agreement with CJG for the use of the Aircraft operated by CJG and the maintenance support for an annual fee of USD3 million plus 6% Goods and Services Tax (“GST”) until 30th June 2017. This will include the cost of fuel, route charges, aircraft parking charges, ground handling charges, aircraft engineering and maintenance, landing fees, any applicable security and immigration costs and any costs related to flight operations. In return, CJG will ensure that the Aircraft is available for usage at a minimum of seventy five (75) actual flight hours per month.
2b) Agreement with TG for the secondment of AAB personnel to TG and reimbursement of staff costs to TG until 30th June 2017. The personnel set forth are 3 pilots, 1 engineer, 1 technician and 2 administrators for the purposes of operating and maintaining the Aircraft.
On 31 March 2016, the Board of AAB approved CJG’s request to increase the annual contribution from USD3 million to USD5.75 million due to the increasing operating costs of the Aircraft. This would amount to an additional outlay of USD687,500 per quarter (the “Incremental Payment”). The Incremental Payment would be used to reduce the purchase price when the Management consider to purchase the Aircraft.
The service agreement we know start from 2015, while there is no public information whether there is any agreement from 2012 to 2015. If there is an agreement with similar term, then there is no wrong doing. If there isn't, there is wrong doing.

Cruger, i think you got my point wrong, I never intend to sell my shares due to this matter. However, yes I am pissed off of this unethical case.
I think the story should write in this way:
"Let say I am CEO of company A. I flied a lot with MAS and get a lot of Enrich point. One day, when my company is dealing with MAS for purchasing of services. I tell MAS official that the ratio of Enrich point earned is not reasonable and I am not happy to it. So MAS decided to give Company A extra Enrich point when Company A award the contract to MAS. One of my employee transfer that extra Enrich point to me, without other board members knowing it. I used all of those points for my personal travel."
This is not 潔癖, I am not asking for zero-bacterial in my toilet, I am just ask for my cleaner to explain why there is uncleaned shit in toilet.

Supersaiyan3, agree with you.
A public listed company isnt private property of founder, he cant do whatever he want.
Even if TF steal 1 sen from AirAsia/AAX, that stealing.
If TF transfer that 3mil USDcredit to caterham after AirAsia bought it, there is nothing wrong.
However, they transferred it when Caterham was still 100% owned by TF&KM, AAX should not transfer it to Caterham, as AAX/AirAsia already paying them about few millions each year.
If TFKM think there is no wrong doing, then show us agreements signed in 2012 that AirAsia & AAC should responsible for all maintenance and operation costs.

In your same comments above, you also misleading forumer by showing TFKM dumping about 146 mil shares, but in actual case it's a shares transfer from TFKM pcoket to Tune Group, a company owned by TFKM.
