KUALA LUMPUR: QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary, QSR Stores Sdn Bhd, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Petronas Dagangan Bhd (PDB) to gradually open 50 new KFC Drive-Thru outlets at Petronas stations nationwide, within the next three years.

QSR Brands Managing Director Datuk Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil said this strategic collaboration with PDB provides an excellent opportunity for QSR Brands to expand its business and restaurant services for the next three years.

“As a market leader within the quick service restaurants segment in Malaysia, we want our service to be easily accessible to customers.

“While continuing to strengthen our core product and service offerings to deliver excellent customer experiences, we place a great emphasis on our expansion strategies to meet the elevated demands of our customers today and tomorrow,” he said in a statement.

DATASONIC GROUP BERHAD (COMPANY NO. 809759-X) (“DATASONIC”) LETTERS OF AWARD (“LOA”) FROM KEMENTERIAN DALAM NEGERI MALAYSIA (“KDN”) TO DATASONIC TECHNOLOGIES SDN BHD (COMPANY NO. 219626-X) (“DTSB”), A WHOLLY-OWNED SUBSIDIARY OF THE COMPANY

1. INTRODUCTION

The Board of Directors (“Board”) of Datasonic wishes to announce that DTSB has on 13 April 2018 received and accepted the LOA dated 13 April 2018 from KDN for the supply of 9.96 million polycarbonate biodata pages to Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia (“JIM”) (hereinafter referred to as (“Contract”) for a period of forty six (46) months commencing from 1 February 2018 to 30 November 2021 for a contract sum of RM270,712,800.00.

2. SALIENT TERMS OF THE LOA

Under the terms of the LOA, DTSB is required to furnish a performance bond for the amount of RM3,531,036.52 to KDN, with validity period commencing from 1 February 2018 to 30 November 2022.

3. RISK FACTORS

The Contract is subject to normal business risks such as increase in cost due to any escalation of material costs and contractual terms including default provisions. As such, the management would put in place control measures and operational procedures to reduce the impact or likelihood of such events.

4. FINANCIAL EFFECTS

The Contract is expected to contribute positively towards the future earnings and net assets per share of Datasonic Group for the financial year ended 31 March 2018 and the financial years thereafter for the duration of the Contract and will not have any effect on the share capital and substantial shareholders’ shareholdings of Datasonic Group.

5. DIRECTORS’ AND SUBSTANTIAL SHAREHOLDERS’ INTEREST

None of the Directors or Substantial Shareholders of Datasonic or persons connected with them has any interest, whether direct or indirect in the Contract.

This announcement is dated 13 April 2018.
