ian0311: 15% means 15% of the par value of the share. It is archaic and clumsy way of telling how much dividend is being paid. I just cannot understand why SC cannot decree that all dividend or other payouts be stated in Ringgit and sen.

The issue as to when FED will raise rate has kept market very nervous for quite a long time. It is far better for FED to just to go ahead and raise rate so that an uncertainty is removed from the equation and let the market find some stability.

Given enough time, most investors can claim to have got right. A dead clock can still tell the correct time once every 12 hours. What matters is how much more one could have made by a different approach.

It started to fall after bursa's uma query, which is very stupid since every uma query comes back with same reply : not aware of any reason for sharp increase in volume/price. this conclusion is simple because if there are any known reasons they would have been announced by the company. Due to the reply, many begin to lock in gains.
The recent run up in ysp share price is due simply to the sharp increase in q1 2015 earnings over q1 2014 by some 70%. If q1 2015 performance can be sustained, ysp's eps for fy2015 will be in the region of 28 sens which translate into pe of 10 based on today's price, and yield of 5% if pay out ratio is 50%. Attractive!

Ks55: Greece WAS a great nation once upon a long long time ago. I doubt it could be called a developed nation in the last few hundred years. I think it pretended to be one and that is the source of its trouble. I think the hosting of the 2000 Olympic required it to borrow heavily and this led to its downfall. In Greece there is lesson for those countries wanting the developed nation status before they are ready - there is grease on he floor and don't pretend it is not there.

Greece has been living on borrowed money for too long a time and the previous government had even cooked their books to hide the true financial picture. They only have themselves to blame. Anyone detect any similarity with any country in Asia?

Coolinvestor : normally, any increase in trade receivables is due to increase in revenue in the same period, but not in this case, although there is an increase in deferred revenue. As of 31.03.2015, trade receivables exceeds deferred revenue by RM200m.
I am trying to work out from the published accounts the amount of 'hidden, profits in the sales for which SPA already signed but not concluded. In this way, the future financial performance of the company can be more accurately estimated. Any comments.

Due to its nature of business, its accounting statements need some effort to understand. Can someone kindly enlighten me on the following item in its Statement of Financial Position for 31.03.2015:
Trade and other receivables- increased by RM337m to RM737mfrom RM399 as of30.06.2014. Logically,an increase of this nature is due to sales concluded, booked but payment not yet collected. But in that 9 months, Benalec only had a revenue of RM121m.
Thank you.

Having followed his postings for sometime, my conclusion is that he is a egomaniac seeking recognition for his achievement and pretending to be a investment guru that he is not. In the case of Jtiasa, he pumped and dumbed the stock after promoting it as the stock of the century. Absolutely totally disgusting.
I have been reluctant to write like this about him out of respect for his age but have to do so now since this fraud continues to mislead others in this forum.

Management expenses are not just about salaries. I think they also include commission which is about 5% - 10% of premium income, as well as such items like rent, travelling, administrative expenses and the like. Look further into the accounts you should normally find the details on salaries paid to employees.

I am not too sure if now is the right time to go into reits. Property prices are falling due to oversupply and revaluation losses are to be expected. In addition, rental is at best flattish and not much earning growth in the medium term. Most reits are geared to about 50% and if interest rates are increased, earnings will be severely affected.
