How's that a privatisation plan showed the industry Or that company is promising?
Sometimes a company can be in a deep shit that needs massive restructuring, so the major shareholders want to get it delisted & proceed with the plan.

The only unchanged is, someone has bought a lot palm oil stocks and now publish nonsense reports in hte platform to lure uneducated investors to follow the footsteps.

To be fair Calvin sifu call on plantations is consider good;

1. Plantation valuation is still under price.
2. Plantations are generating huge operating positive cashflow
3. Plantation lands are good hedge against inflation mah!
4. There are limited supply plantation land available now
5. These companies pays reasonable good dividend mah!
6. The upside is high but the downside is low loh!

For plantation to make money you must have economy of scale, fully integrated: upstream ( your own nursery to produce the best planting material for your plantation) midstream (refinery) and downstream (oleochemical, functional fat and consumer products). Logistic, Marketing and ESG.

Plantation division like QL will forever not making good money

That is why Philip with only mediocre knowledge knows very little about Palm Oil business and bought the overvalued Ql

No other oil seed can replaced palm tree which produce more CPO and PKO per hectare.

And because CPO and PKO give you a full range of Fatty Acid from carbon chain C6, C8, C10, C12, C14, C16, C18, C18', C18" and C20 thus CPO and PKO can be make into many functional Fat and also Oleo-Chemical.

agree. plantation is still a good bet. most likely we will see more activities, consolidations, privatisations, mergers and acquisitions in the palm oil plantation industry. The way forward is economies of scale to compete globally. I think the big boys will always look out to buy small plantation companies or land if the price is right. last time i bet on this very small plantation in sabah called goldenland bhd. felda fgv bought goldenland bhd assets in sabah for 650 millions. after that the company distribute it as special dividend and reinvest in new palm oil plantation in indonesia.

Many other Palm Oil Plantation stocks were taken over and absorbed into Bigger Ones or just taken private like Golden Hope Plant, Austral Enterprize, Tradewind, TMakmur, Kulim, Kwantas & many others

With Cpo now at historic high again can expect more M&A among Plantation Companies soon

The Oil Palm Tree (Elaeis guineensis jacq) originated from the tropical rainforest region of West Africa.
So may I ask leno and i3lurker what is so wrong when you planted millions of forest trees (Palm tree) compare to bigger larger land clearing and planted a seasonal crop(soya crop) and then leave the land bare in between planting season?

Note: Oil palm tree cultivation in Indonesia had brought development into rural area by:

Direct employment opportunities (Every 10 hectare 1 direct employment) which in turn support direct employee whole family livelihood.
Plantation development brought in much needed infrastructure and amenities facilities (Road, banking system, mini-market, medical, school and etc)
Plantation companies provide support, finance and management know how for private own small holders.
Plantation activities generating others economic activities for local communities and allow local small business to flourish.
Plantation water reserve area and fire fighting team readily available water resource to fight any bush/forest fire during severe drought situation.
Plantation companies's conservation and rehabilitation program on HCV areas to restore and preserve the beauty of flora and fauna at its pristine natural environment.
Plantation companies (RSPO) commitment for sustainable and responsible planting and to protect the forest reserve area and animal sanctuary.
Plantation companies bringing development/employment/economic activities to empower rural local communities so that less people migrate to big town for employment thus lesser the infrastructure stress on big towns.

So my questions what benefit have cultivation of other seasonal oil crops had brought to the local communities besides benefitting the rich owner, bank, fertilizer, weed killer and seed supplier? How much of these harmful chemicals will eventually going into river system? And per hectare basic, base on mass balance of carbon atom your cultivation activities had

There are only 8 established glove companies in Malaysia but there are 30 to 40 Palm oil companies directly and indirectly listed in Klse

Palm oil employs more people than steel or tech

So since Cpo now up by more 100% there is nothing bigger than palm oil business for Malaysia now more than others

Thats why the 2 richest savvy investors have taken note the point of concern that palmoil & commodity price cannot going up forever like the case of glove & eventually the commodity price will also fall 1 day mah!

To address this issue or concern w.buffet & bill gates, say buy farmland & palmoil plantation, even the commodity price fall, u still have great protection on the value of cheap plantation land & farmland mah..!

If u buy into cheap land, u have both margin of safety accorded by cheap land plus prospect of reaping great profit from high palmoil price loh!

Bill Gates already bought alot of farmland at low in preparation & in anticipation for the coming armmagedoom coming mah!
Why would one the world tech best richest owner switch alot of his investment into farmland, this bcos farmland or value real estate if it is bought at reasonable low price, u cannot go wrong over longterm bcos the availability of land is limited, u cannot manufacture land like bitcoin mah!

Coming back to msia the equivalent to farmland is oil plantation, u still can get it real cheap & it is paying u reasonably good dividend loh...this is the best defensive & offensive play like bill gates and warren buffet had highlighted mah!


As calvin sifu said timber is at record price & palmoil at record price surely some optimism will spillover to plantation & timber share price mah!

But this up 1 to 2 sen is chicken feed mah, why up so little leh ??

Timber & palmoil share r suffering from lack of production mah and also huge impairment losses on its assets mah & previous falling share price mah!
Thus they are jittery on recovery of palmoil & timber share loh!! They want to see actual profit b4 jump in loh!!
That means if u base on profit...as indicator that means the share price will be lagging loh!
