India's IT technology is one of the best around and for them to accept Iris, it means Iris is as good as theirs. The good thing is Iris Technology is patented. That is the real asset of Iris. It is the know how that is worth in gold.
blind3co ..there are ppl who don"t understand contract terms. if asked to choose between LOI and MOU sure this type of people look MOU is better tah LOI because got signing ceremony..
Iris Corp Bhd has secured a project worth US$27.5mil for the supply of electronic contactless inlays for e-passport p roduction in India.
In its filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said yesterday it had received a letter of intent from India Security Press for the project in relation to the procurement of 15 million International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) compliant electronic contactless inlays along with its operating system required for the manufacture of Indian e-Passports.
In an exchange filing today, Iris said it would supply pre-production sample of 1,000 inlays within three months after issuance of the LoI.
The company said it was requested to furnish performance security/security deposit equivalent to 10 per cent of contract value within 21 days from the date of issuance of the LoI.
*****First give India production sample****** *****If sample Okay, Iris got to "Give 10% Deposit"....India Contract is worst than Ah loong Loan
there are 50 big e-passport suppliers Globally. If India asked 10 suppliers to give 10% deposit each, India can start program without own money. If you want your deposit back, they keep delaying you for stupid reason....as they said "very difficult to make Indian money"
PPAP - Pre Production Approval Process is very normal for any large scale supplies especially when it is custom engineered. This is where quality, process control, consistency and performance is carefully checked with capacity to supply within time frame. As for earnest deposit, no one pay in cash. All use banker's guarantee or if it in cash, it would be deposited in third party stakeholder's account.
If you are the boss, think about below statement extracted from the above article:-
“...HeiTech Padu was the developer of the incumbent Malaysian Immigration System (myIMMS), which was first used by the government in 1993 and which the NIIS will replace”.
Agreed timeline to award is near but I reckon the pressure also increase thus the yesterday announcement.
LOI Letter of Intent is the closest to LOA Letter of Award. No LOA will be given without LOI, normal procedure/ formality. LOI will be given to only one company after shorlisted, this company has to prove/demo the product/services before they issues LOA. I would say as good as Iris secured the contract already. India Security Press belong to the govt. RM114M is significant contracts for Iris will certainly have positive impact in their bottom line.(high margin services) No need to wait for NIIS.
