If David Chiu convert all his LA into mother shares next week it will trigger a MGO, because his holding will exceed 33% unless he does not convert all.
Can any experience expert advice if I want to keep dividen, do I have to keep shr until entitlement date or keep until ex date to enjoy the the dividen payout?
You can sell on the Ex-date and still get the dividend.
The entitlement date is just a formality and where the book keeping takes place. Ex-date will be the actual date of determination which is why the price will be adjusted on the ex-date.
There are always 3 dates in an announcement.
The only dates you should keep in mind is the EX-Date and the Payment date. The entitlement/lodgement date is just a formality announcement and does not affect you as a shareholder.
why want converted its LA? It is because want issue dividend every year already. Once have dividend the share price will shoot up, many investors will buy in rather than save the money in FD. It is good news for L&G long term investors. TP remain same RM1.20, cheers~
Based on last annual report, Mayland has another 100,371,000 LA not converted. If this lot is converted NOW, it will bring Mayland's holding in L&G to slightly over 33%.
I do not know why the last post was removed, but I seemed to have been alerted due to my earlier post.
I think if one trying to use one site to advertise himself or advertise for another site, it would not be a right thing to do, professionally and ethically.
What is the main purpose he coverted and control the L&G? Just for dividen? Or privatise? Compared to Dividen, looks like privatise and own it is more worth
A quick calculation shows that if other LA holders convert 1.72 million more LA to mother shares, Mayland may convert its remaining 100.371 million LA without touching the 33% mark that triggers mandatory general offer. There is a possibility that the 1.72 million being achieved tomorrow (the last trading date before the ex-div date) and seeing Mayland converting the remaining LA at the same time.
Will Mayland has more time to get the dividend because of the 25 September last entitlement date? Trust the Company Secretary may advise.
If Mayland becomes the 32.99% substantial shareholder, hope it may employ the huge cash resources sitting on in the best manner and work hard to bring the Company to a new high. After 500 million (done already on Friday), the next objective must be increasing the market cap to 1 billion.
