Major investment bank Morgan Stanley boosted its Tesla stock outlook based on the company’s Dojo supercomputer project. Analyst Adam Jonas raised his TSLA price target 60% to $400 per share and upgraded the rating to Overweight.
Morgan Stanley believes Dojo could add up to $500 billion in enterprise value for Tesla by accelerating robotaxi adoption and software subscriptions. Their updated bull case scenario models TSLA stock reaching $550.
Sept 11 (Reuters) - Tesla's (TSLA.O) Dojo supercomputer could power a near $600 billion jump in the automaker's market value by boosting the adoption of robo-taxis and its software services, Morgan Stanley analysts said, sending the electric vehicle maker's shares up 6% in premarket trading on Monday.
Tesla, already the world's most valuable automaker, started production of the supercomputer to train artificial intelligence (AI) models for self-driving cars in July and plans to spend more than $1 billion on Dojo through next year.
Dojo can open up new addressable markets that "extend well beyond selling vehicles at a fixed price," Morgan Stanley analysts led by Adam Jonas said in a note on Sunday.
"If Dojo can help make cars 'see' and 'react,' what other markets could open up? Think of any device at the edge with a camera that makes real-time decisions based on its visual field."
The Wall Street brokerage upgraded Tesla's stock to "overweight" from "equal-weight" and made it their "top pick," replacing Ferrari's U.S.-listed shares .
Jonas expects Dojo to drive the most value in software and services.
Morgan Stanley raised its revenue estimate from Tesla's network services business to $335 billion in 2040, from $157 billion earlier.
Jonas expects the unit to account for more than 60% of Tesla's core earnings by 2040, nearly doubling from 2030.
"This increase is largely driven by the emerging opportunity we see in third-party fleet licensing, increased ARPU (average monthly revenue per user)."
Quora: "Does the launch of Huawei Mate 60 Pro equipped with 5G Kirin 9000s processor mean the failure of the US trade war with China?"
Below is Bill Chen from the National University of Singapore, whose answer received the most approval.
Let's see what he said.
Answer: Worse than that. If the chip is confirmed, it will mean a huge decline for one name - Qualcomm.
The Mate 60 Pro has many firsts, and at under $1,000, it's cheap in today's premium phone market.
First, there's a custom GPU in the SoC, which means the Kirin is more autonomous than Apple's A-series chipsets.
Why? Because it has a built-in 5G modem. Apple, with hundreds of billions of dollars in capital, has been unable to break through Qualcomm's patent wall on this particular technology, but Huawei seems to have done it.
If Huawei offers this design to Chinese phone makers, we can say goodbye to Qualcomm and Snapdragon.
We will see a fierce price war.
Secondly, the Mate 60 Pro can make satellite calls, while industry leaders outside of China can only add SMS/emergency signals via satellite.
This is a killer feature covering blind spots in China’s vast rural areas.
As a reminder, modern satellite phones look like this: Yes, walkie-talkie sized with just an ugly antenna.
But the Mate 60 pro is both 9mm thick and looks like this:
It can do the same things as the water bottle above, and even more.
This is revolutionary and demonstrates China's strength in space communications, especially bandwidth and device-side engineering.
Third, it runs Hongmeng 4.0, a mature operating system designed from the ground up to take full advantage of the IoT ecosystem.
For example, Android Auto appears in the form of an APP, but Hongmeng has integrated Auto into it.
Chinese mobile phone manufacturers will increasingly join the Hongmeng bandwagon to prevent Huawei from being kicked out by Google again due to "national security concerns."
My mainland friends speak highly of Huawei's operating system, and they are all people who own multiple mobile phones, including Apple's iPhone.
Fourth, AI assistance. Huawei has built in its own large language model Pangu, which is one step (or several steps) ahead of Android and iOS.
I predict this phone will sell 50 million units.
If this 5G chip is introduced into a large number of lower-priced non-Huawei mobile phones in the future, Qualcomm will be in big, big trouble. Qualcomm would go out of business.
The phone runs among the best in its class, but it can't be sanctioned. let me repeat.
This phone is not sanctioned and it has: Nothing to do with Google. Nothing to do with TSMC. Not affiliated with any Western semiconductor tool manufacturer. Not related to any Taiwanese/Korean/Japanese/American parts or material suppliers. It has nothing to do with US patents. No other mobile phone manufacturer can achieve this feat. It has nothing to do with the United States and is completely outside the scope of sanctions. This is a historic first.
Finally, let me briefly explain the importance of the Mate 60 Pro launch: it was a major event during Gina Raimondo's visit to China.
Let me explain it to you. Sweeping sanctions on Huawei cut off its dependence on foreign suppliers vulnerable to U.S. sanctions and forced Huawei to build a supply chain that can only be carried out at home, allowing it to withstand sanctions without losing its livelihood.
The existence of this completely separate supply chain, including no Swift financing, would be a nightmare for Raimondo and her Commerce Department.
Because after that, she could no longer obtain data on Huawei's development except by relying on deception and hacking methods.
In this completely segmented ecosystem, U.S. companies will be similarly disadvantaged.
China is fully back and all players have a place in the domestic supply chain.
Raimondo and American businesses will have to contend with Huawei (and Chinese high-tech) under the fog of war.
Most importantly, this is a problem created by America, for America.
Update: Chinese news outlets report that millions of units of the 7,000 yuan 12GB/512GB model were available for pre-order and sold out within an hour. Analysts expect Mate 60 Pro sales to exceed 40 million units. This will weaken expectations for Apple’s iPhone sales growth.
The above is the content of the discussion on Quroa.
To be honest, I think we are too conservative compared to them.
Domestically, we are still seriously disassembling and testing devices, and then using a bunch of data to guess the level of domestic content.
Foreign countries have already begun to sentence Qualcomm.
However, this is actually an advantage of the Chinese.
