Can One Q3 profit jumps to RM28.93m

KUALA LUMPUR: Can-One Bhd's pre-tax profit for the third
quarter ended Sept 30, 2012, almost tripled to RM28.929 million compared with the RM9.794 million in the same period of last year.
Revenue also increased to RM200.036 million from RM160.555 million.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia, the food and packaging manufacturer said the better performance was attributed to higher demand and increased production efficiency.
The group's earnings per share for the quarter under review increased to 14.03 sen from 5.11 sen last year.
On prospects, Can-One expects all its operating divisions to continue contributing positively to its results, including the newly established international trading division and Indonesia subsidiary.
"Barring any unfavourable movements in foreign currency exchange rates, interest rates and cost of key materials, we anticipate the results for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2012, to be satisfactory," it added. -- BERNAMA
