KUALA LUMPUR: Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) has suspended Tan Sri Annuar Musa as its chairman effective immediately.

He has also been suspended from his position as Pelaburan Mara Bhd (PMB) chairman.

This was announced by Mara board member Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob at a press conference held at the Mara headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today.

Yusof will serve as acting chairman for both Mara and PMB in the interim.

Speaking to the press, Yacob said the decision was made following an emergency board meeting today.

“Tan Sri Annuar has been notified of the suspension,” said Yusof.

The emergency board meeting was co-chaired by Yusof and Prof Emeritus Datuk Dr Abu Azam Md Yassin.
