KOTA KINABALU: Sabah and Sarawak will be streamlining the terms and conditions for their respective "Malaysia My Second Home" programmes.

Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew said the move aims to create a more consistent framework for the MM2h programmes for the Bornean states.

She also announced her plans to meet with Sarawak Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah to discuss these changes.

"We will work together to reach a consensus on key aspects, such as the deposit payment for participating in the programme," Liew was quoted by Borneo Post following a welcome banquet for the 7th Global Longchuan Association Fellowship Conference here on Saturday night.

The banquet, which was hosted by Liew's ministry, was attended by around 500 delegates from China, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, West Malaysia, and Sarawak.

Welcoming the delegates, Liew encouraged them to explore Sabah's attractions, including its beautiful islands, fresh seafood, and rich local culture.

On another matter, she said Malaysian tour and travel agents wee actively promoting tours to major Chinese cities at the ongoing Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) Fair in Kuala Lumpur.

"The fair has set a new record in the Malaysia Book of Records with 1,590 exhibition booths, the largest participation ever," she added.
