(DNeX) is expanding on its business-to-business offerings by focusing on five growth areas.

These areas are trade facilitation, financial and accounting services, RFID solutions, portable container systems, as well as scaling up of its upstream oil and gas business.

Speaking after its AGM, group managing director Zainal Abidin Jalil (pic) said DNeX is competing and building scale in the trade facilitation services segment.

“We are working with the Pan Asian Alliance community and other international players to establish our presence in cross-border trade facilitation.

PUTRAJAYA, June 5 — The first four members of the National Agriculture Advisory Council who among others will help the government raise the level of national food security and agricultural exports, were named today.

They are Dagang NeXchange Bhd chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Mamat, Leong Hup International Sdn Bhd executive director Tan Sri Francis Lau Tuang Nguang, Universiti Putra Malaysia Institute of Agriculture and Food Policy Studies director Datin Paduka Fatimah Mohd Arshad and young influential entrepreneur Mohd Najib Asaddok.

Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Salahuddin Ayub, who announced the names during a press conference at his ministry here today, said their involvement was expected to contribute substantially to the ministry and to achieve the objectives set out.

“The selection of these figures is appropriate in making recommendations to the ministry as the country still has a national food safety level that is dependent on imports and on boosting agricultural exports,” he said.

Comparison between the current quarter and the immediate preceding quarter: The Group’s PBT hiked by 64.4% to RM30.175 million in current quarter was mainly attributable by post acquisition revenue from Genaxis Group and the growth in trade facilitation business. The Group share in results in an associate company is also improved in tandem with the improving crude oil price in current quarter.

The Group recorded higher revenue in current year quarter by 62.2% as compared to preceding year corresponding quarter. The increase in revenue was mainly driven from the consolidation of post acquisition results from Genaxis Group, on top of recurring incomes from operating & managing the VEP & RC system and continued growth in the Group’s B2B and B2G businesses. The Group’s PBT hiked by 86.9% to RM30.175 million in current quarter as compared to corresponding quarter in 2017 was mainly attributable by post acquisition results from Genaxis Group and the growth in trade facilitation business. The Group share in results in an associate company is also improved in tandem with the improving crude oil price in current quarter.

Prospects:
The Group will continue to build its business by exploring opportunities that leverage on building blocks of its existing IT & eServices and Energy businesses, while focusing on the implementation of planned new initiatives. The Group’s newly acquired Genaxis Group has given a strong footing for the Group to broaden its services and product range beyond its current market and geographical segment.

Trendline Breakout After Recover From a Knee-jerk Selldown. After a steep selldown two days ago towards the RM0.305 level, DNEX managed to rebound higher above RM0.34, forming a bullish candle on Monday. Buying support emerged further yesterday and price crossed above SMA20. With both the RSI and Stochastics on a recovery trend above 50, we believe DNEX may retest the RM0.425-0.465 levels, followed by a LT target at RM0.48. Support will be located around RM0.36-0.37, with a cut-loss point set around RM0.34.
