Even only the working cash (after deducting total liabilities) per share worth RM 1.66. FACB is totally a hidden gem waiting to be discovered

Stock

2014-08-29 08:24 | Report Abuse

hmmm indeed both FACB and PMCORP business income is not impressive, but financially there is a major different. FACB is trading below it's cash per share value, but PMCORP is not. Although both company are cash rich, but if you are valuing them based on cash level, then FACB is undervalue, but PMCORP is not....

well this make the AGM very important to attend, we shall find out what is the company plan on this cash pile. If the company is not able to give me a satisfy answer I will sell immediately without any hesitation. But I had collected FACB in earlier stage which make this a gaining counter in my portfolio, will see how far it can go with this healthy balance sheet.

FACB is a substantial shareholder of Kbunai, if realy FACB is using the cash pile to bailout Kbunai, how come we do not see Kbunai any changes of shareholding? The debt settlement with Kbunai share is actually a good deal to FACB, as Kbunai is obviously not able to pay back the debt, do you want to treat it as bad debt? Or get something back which you can at least cash it on the market?

To Steven and speakup, if you have any evidence that FACB is lending money or supporting Kbunai with the company cash, show it to us but not keep on telling something based on your guessing only.

partially unloaded 0.26, left with free share. I checked and calculated yesterday, now Marco has about 1.05 billion of outstanding share after warrant conversion, i.e. with PE of about 18x which I feel a bit over price for small cap company. Anyway left with free share for dividend will keep on observe what happen next. Happy trading

Any of you invest in this company? Can explain why and what is the prospect you think it has?

Stock

2014-06-04 08:31 | Report Abuse

speakup may I know from where you got the information FACB loan its cash to Kbunai? My understanding is that the shareholding of Kbunai, was a debt -> share exchange deal. This debt should be business operation debt, most likely FACB supply dreamland mattress to Kbunai for their resort business, but Kbunai is not able to pay back the debt. Though this bad debt is anyway not a good deal, but I don't see any sign that FACB is giving loan with its cash to Kbunai anymore after this deal. If really this is the case, we shall really question the management in AGM what is their plan with this cash pile and ask them why giving loan to Kbunai after knowing their credibility issue.

Stock

2014-06-03 09:55 | Report Abuse

speakup you are not entirely correct. Though FACB owns Kbunai's share, but Kbunai is not treated as an investment holding of FACB hence it is actually not affecting the P&L of FACB.

If you refer to the balance sheet, you will realize that Kbunai's share is classified as Available-for-sale investments under Non-current asset. Though as an asset Kbunai is not giving dividend or generating income for FACB, but it is better than just write the debt off as bad debt and FACB receive nothing from the it. Kbunai is still trading at 0.085-0.9 currently, meaning FACB can at least get back 15 millions if they cash out Kbunai.

I invested in FACB becoz of it's cash rich balance sheet. Although the recent quarter it posted an EPS of -0.47, but the accounting ratio is becoming more and more healthy.

Comparing with preceding quarter, FACB had a small increase in cash (1mil), but quite some decrease in liabilities (2mil), which ultimately result the net cash per share increased from 1.49 to 1.51.

In conclusion, buying FACB with net cash per share of 1.51 @ currently price 1.38, meaning you buy money at a discounted price of 10%. In addition, don't forget that FACB has a net current asset per share of 1.88. If you follow Benjamin Graham NCAV trading strategy, you have a investment safety margin of 27%.

the reason i can think of i becoz they made loss in previous year 2011-2013, but the point is, they sold off their loss making business, and hold only the existing business which is generating profit. If Q2 and Q3 they can still show consistent EPS, then it prove that their business is on track already

Stock

2014-03-04 08:13 | Report Abuse

hmm, if we ignore the previous 3 quarters result (due to the fact that the profit came from disposal of subsidiaries/property), annualized the most recent quarter EPS 3.29 cents -> 13.16 (which will be the profit of continuing operation), resulting a PER ~ 9.

in addition of it strong and healthy financial position, do you still feel it is risky to invest long term in FACB? Its net cash per share = RM1.49

Dear Mr. Koon,

Thanks for your reply. Yes indeed the FCPO is up-trending, however I have this worry that FCPO up because of lower FFB harvest recently due to the fact that both Malaysia and Indonesia are currently suffering on dry season. I asked my Indonesian friends, they said even Indonesia also close to 1 month no rain already. Same thing happen in Malaysia, without rain, shan't we be cautious about the FFB production?

It could be a good time to long FCPO, but I am really worrying about plantation sector next quarter result. For plantation company, revenue = FFB x FCPO, in case FCPO increase, FFB drop, Revenue will not increase right?

Just my 2 senses, correct me if I am wrong.

However, one remisier told me that Kulim is one of the very few GLC which has pretty good management. This year poor result could be due to too much spending on CAPEX, buying NBPOL, PTwin and etc. Hopefully the CAPEX will make the business become more profitable in future.

Thanks & regards,
Chian Haw

could this be the situation?

Anne and Ngu sold their shares to reduce their holding in the company so that public spread is higher.

But they ask somebody who is related to them (father mother brother sister son daughter or even friends) to buy at low. But when the good result release, the price shoot up. Double win for them.

Their friends and family got to buy the share at low and remain the share within the family, and at the same time increase the public spread of the share which fulfill the main board criteria...
