The yin side, I think is d speed n it's a counter no one bother with. A bit slow for some ppl. Half a sen up..... Half a sen down..... 1 full year only a few sens up. Avg 50% up in 2013, and possibly 50% up 2014.

Another example, inari which I only masuk at 2.88, now 3+. Earned abit after a month or so... Most of my friends at that thread dah masuk at 10-50 sen a few years ago... Now really durian runtuh for them. Imagine: 10 sen to Rm3/-! That's serious money!

The lesson we can take fr this case is : invest while a good counter is still low.. Iris is a good co. Technology innovator. Created the world first passport! 40 sen is still very affordable. Buy, keep. Just a matter of time before we get similar positive results like Inari ;)

AT, I think most good counters will take turn to shoot up. This year alone, IRIS shot up fr 20 sen to almost 60 sen, only to consolidate at 40+ sen... 20 to 40 sen is 100% ;) Good enough for a long term investor, like me. Let's hope will climb back to 60 sen soon...
Other counters like dbhd, smrt, seal all had their field day... I only rode these half way ( takut cos dunno when will suddenly consolidate - now most consolidating liao... Ways if d market... )

In my mind, there r 4 ways to play d market....1) long term investment 2-3-4-5 + years... 2) mid term investment- 6mths - 1 year 3) short term speculation 1-6 months 4) punting/contra aka gambling (which I'm hopeless at).

I earned 95% $ in long term investment, the rest via mid term speculations.

When punting, make sure u have real cash to back up yr punting activities - else, can really lose kaw kaw !

Brazil bonanza for Karex condoms
KUALA LUMPUR, June 19:

Malaysian firm Karex Bhd, the world’s largest condom producer, is one of the biggest gainers at the ongoing FIFA World Cup tourney, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Karex chief executive officer Goh Miah Kiat said his company’s sales to Brazil have increased 25% by value so far this year, outpacing growth to other markets, the paper reported.
The firm has been supplying condoms to the Brazilian market for the last 15 years, Goh added.
For the football extravaganza, Karex had produced specially-packaged condoms, ordered by Washington-based nonprofit organisation DKT International.
Distributed under the brand name Prudence, the condoms are flavoured to taste like Brazil’s signature cocktail, the Caipirinha, which is made with limes, sugar and the Brazilian liquor cachaca, the paper reported.
“Both the packaging (which is decorated with a sliced lime), and the condoms themselves are yellow and green, Brazil’s national colors.”
The special-edition Prudence condoms are available only in Brazil. About 2.1 million units, or 700,000 packs of three, have been sold since the condoms hit store shelves in February, said DKT International’s director for Brazil operations, Daniel Marun.
DKT promotes family planning and HIV prevention in developing countries.
DKT’s first delivery of 864,000 units of the Prudence Caipirinha condoms sold out in 15 days, Marun said, noting that in a normal year, Brazil would use about one billion condoms.
An additional batch of 864,000 condoms was distributed in Brazil this week.

Karex on track to boost output capacity

KUALA LUMPUR: Condom maker Karex Bhd, which targets to increase its production capacity to six billion condoms by 2016, expects to complete the first phase of its RM80 million plant expansion in Pontian, Johor, by April next year.
Its chief executive officer Goh Miah Kiat said this puts Karex on track to achieve the target as it capitalises on the rapidly growing demand for condoms globally.
“With the plant expansion, our capacity will further increase from four billion to five billion and then eventually with the same site, we will be adding some more machines which will bring us to six billion by 2016,” Goh said.
Karex is the world’s largest condom manufacturer with a 10 per cent market share and an annual production capacity of four billion pieces.
Besides the Pontian plant, which currently produces two billion condoms annually, the company also manufactures condoms at two other factories in Port Klang, Selangor, and Hat Yai in Thailand with installed capacity 800 million and 1.2 billion pieces respectively.
On the company’s outlook, Goh said Karex is optimistic of achieving a higher net profit for the financial year ending June 30, fueled by its outstanding performance in the nine months ended March 31, which saw earnings grow by 65 per cent to RM33 million from RM20 million previously.
“The outlook is good generally, we have already surpassed profit figures but sales figure is close to what we did last year, so definitely this year will surpass last year,” he told reporters at the In The Spotlight @ Bursa Malaysia programme, here, yesterday.
“Despite the positive outlook, we will continue to improve our cost management to prepare for any possibilities in the future such as electricity or utility tariff adjustment, further instability in rubber prices around the world,” he added.

INARI AMERTRON BHD

ARECA Capital Sdn Bhd chief executive officer (CEO) Danny Wong feels that a good stock to hold over the next six months is Inari Amertron Bhd because of the company’s new earnings driver and its ability to ride on the growing usage of tablets such as Apple’s iPad and iPhone.

A quantum leap in earnings is expected from the setting up of two of its new divisions; electronics test measurement and fibre optics.

Via its 51%-owned Ceedtec Sdn Bhd, it has become an original design manufacturer for Agilent Technologies.

Secondly, the group has also moved into the research, design and manufacturing of fibre optic-related products via its 100%-owned Inari South Keytech Sdn Bhd, where it has commenced production of new fibre-optic components for Avago Technologies.

Avago is Inari’s single largest customer, contributing more than 70% of its current total sales.

Through Avago, Inari is able to tap into the smartphone and tablet market, as it does radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) assembling and testing.

Asia: Shares sink after losses on Wall St

HONG KONG: Asian markets were mostly lower yesterday following losses on Wall Street fuelled by anaemic United States consumer spending.

Investors were taking a breather ahead of the release next week of key economic data, including on global manufacturing activity, US jobs and Japanese business confidence.

So cheap, this stock. Keep some here, better than keep in FD. At least, there is a chance of making serious $$$$. That's how I think lol....
