Our Group is actively identifying suitable business projects or investments. The future business projects or investments could be in the existing industries which our Company is currently operating in, or complementary industries to its existing businesses, or different industries from its existing businesses. These future business projects or investments include, amongst others, energy/ power projects, infrastructure and water-infrastructure projects.

In respect of the above, our Group's wholly-owned subsidiary, JAKS Solar Power Sdn Bhd had,
on 2 September 2020, submitted a tender for the fourth cycle of the Large Scale Solar scheme ("LSS4") to the Energy Commission of Malaysia for the development of a solar power plant with an export capacity of 50 megawatts. The total project cost is estimated to be approximately RM200.00 million which is expected to be financed via the proceeds to be raised from the Rights Issue with Warrants, internally-generated funds and/ or borrowings. In the event the tender is successful, the construction of the solar power plant is expected to commence in the second quarter of 2022 and be completed in the first quarter of 2023. Thereafter, the solar power plant is expected to commence power generation based on a 21-year concession period from the first quarter of 2023 until the first quarter of 2044. Our Company intends to use the proceeds to fund the preliminary expenses of the said solar power plant project within 6 to 12 months from the completion of the Rights Issue with Warrants in the event the tender is successful. The result of the tender is expected to be announced in the first quarter of 2021. Any update or development in relation to the tender will be announced by our Company in accordance with the Listing Requirements.

I found discussions in private group are much more constructive and fruitful where more readers are willing to share their findings and research. The atmosphere is much more harmonious even though differences in opinions were often seen. I have personally received information which are very helpful in my research. People are not willing to share in public forum for fear of undue criticism. I3 Admin has a lot to improve on encouraging sharing of info and opinions. Bad and provocative behaviour must be stopped.

I m not here to promote my private chat group. In fact, there is nothing important in the chat group which have not been shared here. Jaks is finally on track to report income from its power plant. I have not much to share anymore apart from reviewing its results of the power plant as and when they are reported.

My experience with i3 is very unpleasant and stressful and I do not have intention to stay after I fulfilled my promises made in Jaks forum. You do not need to know who I m as I wish to remain unknown.

The revenue figure given by ALP is similar to Vinh Tan 1's revenue for 2019 of about USD650m.

stockwin, thank you for your understanding. Valuation in this article is derived using DCF with certain assumptions. I can't simply ignore it because the results is "too high" or "unbelievable".

Points in the article to challenge are;
1. DCF is not the most appropriate method of valuation
2. RM300m FCF based on Vinh Tan 1's results is inappropriate
3. Using Jaks' weighted average borrowing costs of 6.12% as discount rate is inappropriate
4. Assuming FCF will be reinvested in new opportunity is baseless
5. Assuming constant FCF for 25 years is too simplistic
6. Using Present value as stock valuation is inappropriate
7. Insufficient warnings

I hope more readers can think and behave like stockwin. Take responsibility for your own decision.

You can't blame the BOD/ALP/CFO for giving conservative guidance. I already laid out my reasons for taking vinh Tan 1 as earnings guidance. RM294m represents free cash flow not earnings. DCF calculation is based on FCF instead of earnings. That is why I advised readers to understand DCF before reading this article. I believe I have given sufficient warnings in my article.

If the profit from JHDP is ONLY RM100m, I will apologize to all the readers.

Even coal is banned, Vietnam government still has to pay capacity charges to JHDP for 25 years.

Coal prices is a pass thru costs in the power purchase agreement signed with EVN Vietnam. ie no impact on profitability of JHDP.
