let's be honest, Sunrise has been an absolute joke since Datuk Seri Michael Yam left and uem took over. Everyone here keeps mentioning Sunrise's reputation but it was achieved through Datuk Seri and not through uem.

Uncle Sam, what Bursalord said was right. IW City released a statement 2 days after Mahathir reinstated Bandar Malaysia. IW City claimed that they are not involved in the plans. IW City can be the master developer if and only if they set down the deposit which is what we are all waiting for. I don't understand where you're coming from.

Resigns the week of Raya and tomorrow is only a half day of trading. A sizable portion of the market won't be able to react, well played Mokhzani. All about making more money for himself, well it runs in the family I guess.

micsoh, nobody is insisting that Bumi Armada close their operations (stop working) but from an investors point of view we must look at whether this counter will be able to recoup what it has lost and it seems to jsut be staircasing it's way down for the past few years. I agree with you that they will most likely start making profit as we've seen in Q1 but the question is how long will it take to recoup what they've lost. As @titus pointed out it won't be so soon unless something substantial happens which we have no indication to believe so.

Yes, I too agree that oil prices are bouncing back which reflects demand within the market. But my issue is with the numbers, their mismanagement of their FSPO and OSV have cost them and this is not the first time they've lost over a billion (2016). This counter used to be over RM14 billion and now is only RM1.1 billion. As for the interest payments, could you share the source for your figure. I remember it was supposed to be RM40 million a year.

And I have not even taken into account the added capex for this project which AmInvest predicts to be at USD1.3 billion. I did not cite this number as i'm not aware on how they came up with this valuation. However, with every project there is capex and that will eat into profits again, I simply don't see how the numbers add up.

micsoh, my issue is not with them securing more contracts (that's a good thing and I understand your point) but more with how they will make up for the RM2.2 billion losses. As it stands it will take them roughly a decade and that's without paying out dividends. Perhaps you can explain to me why you see Armada has worth investing in because I clearly don't.

Mate, I'd stay away from this company. The contract they recently got in India for RM8.8 billion is over the span of NINE years. Furthermore, it's a JV that Bumi Armada only owns 30% of so they'll bring in 200+ million revenue each year (not profit). Not sure how this helps make up the loss of RM2.2 billion even in the long term.
