The real bliss is in the cool, calm counting of profits at the end stage of your waiting phase. Not in the heady, pulse grinding, heart busting madness of trying to 'time the market', so called 'buy high, sell higher' & all that other krappy stuff.

Not many might know of this yet, but there is now a Turkish-owned manufacturing facility in Tanjong Langsat, Johor, making toiletries & cosmetics for 100% export, mainly to Europe, using palm oil. Company name is Evyap Sabun.

They had made the switch from animal fats to vegetable oils to accommodate the now rapidly growing Muslim halal market. And palm oil was the pefect choice for them, because it is the cheapest veg oil by a mile, compared to all other veg oils, including soyoil & olive oil.

The global market for palm oil is vast. Not only for food & food related purposes, but as raw material for myriad oleochemical based industries, such as in cosmetics & toiletries, even some niche specialty industrial chemicals.

All that we need to do is to seek those markets, work them, and then tap them.

If we could just generate another RM6 bil of exports to emerging high pop and/or high wealth economies in East Asia, West Asia, Central Asia, South Asia, Eastern/Central Europe, Africa & South/Central America, then we do not need to continue grovelling with them hypocrite soyoil producing EU nations to keep up sales to them. If push comes to shove, they can just take their circa RM2.5 bil of CPO imports from us & shove it where the sun don't shine.

For example, Maybank' latest forecast for palm oil price is RM2,300 per tonne for March 2020.

But latest recent peak is already RM2,356 per tonne, achieved yesterday evening.

That just says it all, about how conservative Maybank's forecast really is.

While my own personal gut feeling is, price could breach RM2,638 per tonne this year. Maybe even before Christmas.

Too many parties are now still being too negative in their perceptions about palm oil. Even someone like Maybank is being overly conservative in their outlook & forecasting for palm oil.

But fact is, this is our golden crop, man. Our government is certainly not going to let it go to to the dogs, for sure.

But then, there do also occur occasionally, opportunity for 'in & out' play. Like happened on 14 May, one day before Belt & Road Meeting in Shanghai, which our PM (his initials also TDM, BTW) attended.

TDM price hit peak 24 sen that morning. Even if you had bought @20, then sold to lock in profit @23, you would still have made 15% gain.

I'm not fazed by current weakness in CPO price. It's just a transient thing, I believe.

I see CPO gradually returning to its previous glory days of ca RM4,000 per tonne, eventually. Like it once did in 2008.

Would take plenty of effort from the government side. But it's not something impossible. Implementation of mandatory use of B10 biodiesel for industrial sector & B20 biodiesel for transportation sector, scheduled for 2020, would be powerful factors, I reckon.

Plus also stronger & more sustained efforts to push palm oil to new markets abroad, of course. And also fight the EU boolshhit.

I'm dug in for the long haul. Only way to play a stock like this.
