Nvidia's mixed earnings report disappointed investors. Despite strong revenue growth, the company's sales forecast fell short of expectations. This led to a decline in tech stocks, including the Nasdaq 100 ETF. While Nvidia's board approved additional stock buybacks, the company's production snags with the Blackwell chip raised concerns. Despite the short-term volatility, analysts remain optimistic about the long-term growth prospects of AI technology.

US trade officials may impose new tariffs on solar panels from four Southeast Asian nations, citing unfair subsidies that make US products uncompetitive. The Commerce Department will make two preliminary decisions this year, in a trade case brought by Korea's Hanwha Qcells, Arizona-based First Solar, and several smaller companies. The domestic producers argue that competition from cheap imports by Chinese companies threatens US President Joe Biden's goal to boost domestic manufacturing of clean energy technologies.
