Kon, I know where you are coming from, taking into consideration of depreciation, the company still have a net positive cash flow after dividend. However, I think the company will take the opportunity to reduce the dividend for the coming year. This happened to Pintaras Jaya, an excellent dividend paying company.

I agree with sense maker. They are still delaying the 1st Q results and the 2nd Q results to be announced in August can't be good. The earliest possible recovery will only come after that.
Fundamentally, I'm more worry about the focus of the company. How much effort are they putting into the mushroom business? Revenue from that sector is only 800+K p.a.. Less than 0.2% of the overall revenue. Not even enough to pay the directors' fees.
Earning per share was down from 30 sens in 2015 to a mere 2.5 sens in 2019 and they are still concentrating on the same cost saving efforts.
They are sitting on a huge cash pile but still dividend cut seems to be imminent.

The high dividend policy does suggest that the management is very willing to reward the shareholders. 1 sen per quarter for the last 4 Qs

Agree with you Specter. I'm confident that the average Q profit be at least Rm25m, making 100m for the year. Divided by 568m, we're looking at EPS of 17.6. At 1.33, the PE = 7.55. Very much undervalue

Only 1st Q no dividend. Interim & final dividend in the 4th Q . Effectively, we'll get dividend every quarter. 1.5 for interim & 2.5 for final making a total of 7 for the year is acceptable. 2 for interim & 2.5 final making a total of 8.5 is fantastic.

We did briefly touched on the subject of the share being undervalue and what is the level he will start buying back.

In the AR, "With a much stronger financial performance,
the Company had announced in the
previous AGM a dividend policy of not
less than 30% of the Group’s PAT to be
used for distribution as dividend. The
Board had since declared three (3) interim
dividends which totalled 4.6 sen per share,
or RM23.5 million for FY2016. The Board is
recommending a final dividend of 2.5 sen
per share to be approved at the forthcoming
Annual General Meeting (AGM), thus
bringing the total dividends for FY2016 to
7.1 sen, representing approximately 45%
of the Group’s PAT for FY2016."
The MD is fully aware of what they promised and did say they will stick to it. MINIMUM 30% and try to keep to 45%.

I'm not overly concern about the weakening USD. The MD rightly mentioned that all export orientated companies will be confronted by this. Since the demand is still very strong, the company can pass on the cost to the end users when the time call for such an action. The company has no problem turning more to the local market also.

niki, the RTA in the new building when will become operational? - no idea!
I did managed to talked to Peh Ju Chai (executive director of HeveaPac). He did admit that they failed to cope with the local demand of RTA. Most items are sold out in the local outlets. The demand is far exceed the supply.
2017-05-31 12:04 | Report Abuse
When does it come online? Same with the additional RTA factory being built on the adjacent line - any timeline for commencement of operations there? - Can't recall anything on that. My guess is operations are in progress.
outlook of the company in the near to mid term? - Personally, I concur with the management to consolidate their positions on particleboard & RTA now before the Gourmet fungi cultivation come onboard. All the measures taken by the management mean that earnings and dividends for the next 2-3 years shall be sustainable.
nikicheong, I hope I've answer your questions.

The third production line - My understanding from the MD is this line is for lamination. It gives a better value and hence commands a better price. It will boost selling price but not in quantity. The company strategy is to generate profit from pushing up the product value but not by producing more.
BTW,both particle board & RTA are closed to full capacity. It is hard to increase RTA production capacity mainly due to shortage of labour.

Expansion – They have earmarked RM 48m on CAPEX this year 2017. The breakdown can refer to Specter's posting on 30/5.They will have their hands full for the next 2-3 years and will not consider any more expansions or M&A.

nikicheong, you have a lot of good questions. The MD was very welling to answer questions before, during and after the AGM. You should have been there. Give me a bit of time to recollect what he said and try my best to answer you later.

I was waiting for the email of approval to attend the AGM. Nothing came through. Both PBB & Maybank can get me in! did anyone manage to attend?
Sense maker, I'm equally eager to get some insight of the recent MCO impact from the Q results but disappointed too.
Kon, happy to see some price advancement. further progress? where are the catalysts?
